The Tinymight 2 is a handcrafted convection vaporizer from Finland, designed and manufactured by JTJS Products OY in Helsinki. With its solid oak wood body, a vapor path made of pure stainless steel and quartz glass, and a heat-up time of just 3 seconds in on-demand mode, the Tinymight 2 has established itself as one of the most powerful portable vaporizers on the market.
The Tinymight 2 offers two operating modes (on-demand and session), a replaceable 18650 battery, a temperature range of 120–240°C with 20 settings, and full water pipe compatibility. Thanks to its pure convection heating and clean vapor path, it delivers exceptionally flavorful vapor.
Temperature Control & Dial
The Tinymight 2 features an analog temperature dial on the bottom panel. It offers 10 main steps with half-steps in between, providing approximately 20 different temperature settings across a range of 120 to 240°C.
The electronics control the heater in real time with high precision. The set temperature is maintained reliably regardless of draw strength.
Calibration:
If the default temperature range isn't ideal, the Tinymight 2 can be calibrated in steps from -3 to +3 relative to factory settings. Calibrating to +3 means that setting 7 delivers the same results as setting 10 normally would. Detailed instructions are available in the Tinymight 2 Manual (PDF).
Note: The Tinymight won't turn on if the dial is set below level 2 – this is a safety feature to prevent accidental activation.
Heating Technology – Pure Convection
The Tinymight 2 uses a stainless steel convection heater with an exceptionally large surface area. Unlike most portable vaporizers, the Tinymight works with pure convection: air is drawn through the heating element during inhalation and then passes through the material.
Benefits of pure convection:
- Better flavor: The large heating surface means lower surface temperatures are needed, resulting in purer taste
- No residual heating: In on-demand mode, heating stops immediately when the button is released
- Even extraction: Hot air flows evenly through the material
The heating element is a spiral-shaped metal structure. Different production runs have used various configurations – some placed inside a glass tube, others inside a metal tube, and some as a free-standing structure with ceramic support rods.
Note: The heater produces a faint noise during operation. This is normal and results from current pulses acting on the lightweight, large-surface heating structure.
Battery & Charging
The Tinymight 2 uses a replaceable 18650 lithium-ion battery. One Molicel battery is included in the package.
Compatible batteries:
The Tinymight 2 is very powerful and requires high-drain cells. Only the following Molicel models are recommended:
- Molicel P30B (3,000 mAh)
- Molicel P28A (2,800 mAh)
- Molicel P26A (2,600 mAh)
Warning: Other 18650 batteries may provide insufficient performance or pose a safety risk. Only use original batteries or Molicel cells from trusted sources.
Charging:
Charging is done via USB with a cable and an adapter capable of at least 2A output. A full charge from 0 to 90% takes approximately 1.5 hours. The aluminum bottom panel gets warm during charging – this is normal as it acts as a heatsink.
Charging only starts when the battery voltage has dropped sufficiently. If charging doesn't begin, the battery is still too full for a new charging cycle.
On-Demand & Session Mode
The Tinymight 2 offers two operating modes, selectable when turning on the device:
On-Demand Mode:
In on-demand mode, the vaporizer heats only while the button is held down. Upon release, the device returns to standby immediately. Heat-up time is approximately 3 seconds.
- Perfect for single draws between tasks
- No material consumption during standby
- Maximum control over extraction
Session Mode:
In session mode, the vaporizer heats up automatically and maintains a stable temperature until turned off.
- Ideal for longer sessions
- Constant temperature without holding the button
- Easy to pass around in a group
Micro-dosing: The Tinymight 2 works excellently for micro-dosing. The adjustable chamber volume works well with very small amounts as well as larger loads.
Cleaning & Maintenance
Regular cleaning is important for vapor quality and longevity of the Tinymight 2. The parts that need cleaning are the glass tube with cooling unit and occasionally the stainless steel mesh screen above the heater.
Glass tube & cooling unit:
- Unscrew the threaded ring on the front panel – the internal parts slide out easily
- Rinse the glass tube and cooling unit with hot water and detergent
- Alternatively, soak in isopropyl alcohol for stubborn residue
- Rinse thoroughly and allow to dry completely
Stainless steel mesh screen:
The mesh screen above the heater protects the heating element. If dirty, it can be gently cleaned with the included brush.
Important: The mesh screen must always sit securely in its holder. If it falls onto the heater, it can cause a short circuit that damages the heater. Do not use third-party dosing capsules that could displace the screen.
Materials & Build Quality
The Tinymight 2 is handcrafted in Helsinki, Finland. Each unit is individually assembled and assigned a unique serial number.
Materials in the vapor path:
- Stainless steel – heating element and vapor channel
- Quartz glass – glass lining and vapor tube
The entire vapor path uses no glues, chemicals, or insulation materials. The only materials in the device are oak wood, stainless steel, glass, and aluminum. The electronics board is separated from the vapor path.
Counterfeit detection:
Counterfeits exist on the market. Original units from February 2022 onwards have a serial number on the bottom panel and an individually registered security code. In fake TM2 units, the battery is often inserted the opposite way – the original has "+" printed on the inside of the battery lid.
Troubleshooting & Maintenance
Reduced vapor production:
- Check the battery: A weak or old battery can reduce performance. Only use recommended Molicel cells.
- Clean battery lid contact: Occasionally scratch the contact point on the battery lid to ensure optimal power transfer.
- Adjust calibration: The temperature range can be adjusted in steps from -3 to +3. At +3, setting 7 delivers the results of setting 10.
Cracked glass lining:
The internal glass lining can crack if the unit is dropped. Replacement glass linings are available from the Tinymight shop. Replacement requires a Torx T20 screwdriver. Warning: The internal screw must be loosened before removing the top panel – otherwise the device will be destroyed.
Cooling unit slides out of glass tube:
The cooling unit requires two different o-rings: one 10mm and one 11mm ring. If both are the same size, the fit will be too loose or too tight.
