About this vaporizer
The Mighty by Storz & Bickel is the predecessor to the Mighty+ and still a capable portable vaporizer with hybrid heating. The main difference from the Mighty+: the original Mighty uses Micro-USB instead of USB-C and has a larger 5800 mAh battery, offering more capacity at the cost of additional weight. Heat-up time is around 90 seconds to 210°C.
Like the Mighty+, it supports passthrough charging, comes with dosing capsules, and is compatible with water pipes via adapter accessories. The hybrid heating produces thick, consistent vapor. For non-rushed sessions, the longer battery life is a genuine advantage.
Today the original Mighty is priced lower than the Mighty+ and makes sense for users who want the proven S&B quality at a lower entry point. Those prioritizing USB-C charging or faster heat-up should go straight to the Mighty+.

Hybrid Heating: Convection Meets Conduction
The centrepiece of the Mighty is Storz & Bickel's patented heating system. The aluminum chamber heats the material from the outside (conduction), while hot air flows through it at the same time (convection). This allows the herb to be extracted evenly right from the start.
The airflow is around 10 liters per minute. That is enough for deep draws without noticeable draw resistance. A double-click on the power button activates the Booster, which raises the temperature by 15 degrees C, making more efficient use of the remaining material towards the end of a session.
Materials and Build Quality
The housing is made from PEEK (polyetheretherketone), a high-performance plastic used in medical technology. PEEK is food-safe, heat-resistant and significantly more durable than ordinary plastic.
The filling chamber holds 1.4 cubic centimeters and is made of aluminum — a difference from the Mighty+, whose chamber is ceramic-coated. The cooling unit sits on top and uses a labyrinth-like air path to cool the vapor before it reaches the mouthpiece.
The Mighty does not have stand feet (stability fins), but still stands securely on smooth surfaces thanks to its wide base.
Temperature Control and Display
The LCD display shows the actual and target temperatures at the same time. Two buttons (+/-) let you adjust the temperature in 1-degree steps between 40 and 210 degrees C. A vibration alarm — a novelty when it launched in 2014 — lets you know when the target temperature has been reached.

After one minute of inactivity, the Mighty switches itself off automatically to save battery and prevent overheating.
How Do I Charge the Battery Properly?
Two lithium-ion batteries power the Mighty. In practice, this is enough for 5 to 8 sessions, depending on temperature and draw style. Unlike the Mighty+, this version uses a proprietary 12V power supply rather than USB-C.
Charging time depends on the battery level. Pass-through charging works: the Mighty can be used while charging, as long as the power supply is connected.
The battery is not user-replaceable. Storz & Bickel offers replacement as a paid service.
Dosing Capsules, Accessories and Cleaning
The Mighty is compatible with Storz & Bickel Dosing Capsules. The same capsules fit the Mighty+, Crafty+, VENTY and Plenty — a major advantage of the S&B ecosystem. A capsule caddy (8 pieces) is available as an accessory.
Using a 14-mm water pipe adapter, the Mighty can be connected to a bong. Other accessories include the Wear & Tear Set, replacement cooling unit and carry case.
Cleaning
The cooling unit can be removed without tools and soaked in isopropanol. Brush out the chamber after each session using the included brush. Every two to three weeks, Storz & Bickel recommends a thorough clean: disassemble the cooling unit, replace the screens, and wipe out the chamber. It takes less than five minutes.
Mighty vs. Mighty+: What Has Changed?
The Mighty+ is the successor to the original Mighty. Key improvements: a ceramic-coated filling chamber, and a 60-second instead of 90-second heat-up time. Vapor quality is almost identical — both use the same hybrid heating system.
The Mighty OG is no longer being produced, but some shops still have remaining stock available (from 204 EUR). The Mighty+ starts at around 266 EUR.
Cleaning the Cooling Unit
The cooling unit is the centrepiece of Mighty maintenance. Disassemble it (unscrew the cap, remove the O-ring and screens), soak it in isopropanol, and scrub it thoroughly with the brush. Every 1-2 weeks with daily use. Clean cooling units = better flavor and freer airflow.
Cleaning & Care
Regular cleaning keeps the Mighty in top condition and ensures pure flavor. After each session, brush out the chamber and remove any loose residue. Once a week, clean the mouthpiece and vapor path with isopropyl alcohol (at least 90%).

What Are the Ideal Temperature Settings?
The right temperature on the Mighty determines flavor, vapor density and active compound profile. Lower temperatures (170–185 °C) emphasize terpenes and deliver mild, aromatic vapor. Higher temperatures (195–210 °C) produce denser clouds and a stronger effect.

Troubleshooting & Resolving Issues
Short answer: For the original MIGHTY, STORZ & BICKEL documents four error codes: ERR 001 through ERR 004. ERR 001 and ERR 002 relate to battery temperature, ERR 003 to an unsuitable power supply, and ERR 004 to a device fault. If the MIGHTY won't switch on at all, the battery charge level should be checked first. Error codes from newer devices must not be applied to this model.

Safe diagnosis in the correct order
- Switch the device off and, with the power supply connected, unplug it from the power outlet first.
- Note the display and error number; for ERR 001 or ERR 002, allow the device to reach room temperature without applying external heat.
- For ERR 003, use only the accessories designated for the original MIGHTY.
- If the error persists or ERR 004 appears, do not open the device or attempt to repair it yourself.
- Have the serial number and proof of purchase ready and use the STORZ & BICKEL service.
Important model distinction
This table applies to the original MIGHTY and follows its official operating instructions. The manufacturer's current support page lists additional codes for MIGHTY+ and VENTY. Messages such as E05 or Bluetooth codes therefore do not belong in the fault diagnosis of the original MIGHTY.
When the device should not continue to be used
STORZ & BICKEL advises against attempting repairs yourself after any malfunction. If the housing is damaged, the battery behaves abnormally, ERR 004 recurs, or an error persists after cooling or warming to room temperature, the device should be switched off, disconnected from every energy source, and handed over to the service.
