Tinymight

The Tinymight is a handmade convection vaporizer from Finland – the predecessor of the Tinymight 2. Its hallmark: pure On-Demand operation with instant heating stop. A replaceable 18650 battery, wooden housing and an analogue temperature control make it a cult device.

1. Insert the battery

Unscrew the bottom cap and insert a 18650 battery (positive terminal facing upwards). The Tinymight has no USB charging port. You charge the battery externally in an 18650 charger. A full 2600-mAh battery lasts for around 6–10 On-Demand sessions. A spare battery is practical when you are out and about.

2. Fill the chamber

Pull out the glass mouthpiece. Grind your herb medium-coarse – pure convection needs coarser material so that the hot air can flow through unhindered. Fill loosely with about 0.05–0.1 g. Do not tamp down. Reinsert the mouthpiece.

3. Set the temperature

The temperature control is located on the side of the wooden housing. Turn it steplessly to your desired setting:

• Left – low temperature, approx. 170–180 °C, full flavor
• Middle – approx. 190–200 °C, flavor plus good vapor quantity
• Right – approx. 220–240 °C, maximum extraction

There is no display – you learn the right position for your taste after a few sessions.

4. On-Demand draw technique

Hold the button down and wait 3–5 seconds. Then draw slowly and evenly for 8–10 seconds. As soon as you release the button, the heating stops immediately – no after-vapor, no waste. The glass mouthpiece noticeably cools the vapor. A typical bowl lasts for 3–5 draws.

5. After the session

The heating switches off as soon as you release the button. Let the device cool briefly. Pull out the glass mouthpiece, tap out the used material and brush out the chamber. Soak the glass mouthpiece in isopropyl alcohol every 1–2 weeks.

The 5 most common beginner mistakes

• Ground too finely – Fine material blocks the airflow with convection. Grind medium-coarse.
• Drawing too quickly – Fast draws cool the heating element down. Slow and even brings significantly more vapor.
• Button held too briefly – The heating element needs 3–5 seconds of lead time. Anyone who draws immediately only gets hot air.
• No spare battery with you – 2600 mAh runs low quickly with frequent use. A second battery saves the day.
• Chamber too full – The Tinymight only needs 0.05–0.1 g. Less material = better airflow = more vapor.

Every Tinymight is handmade in Finland. The wooden housing (walnut or other woods) gives every device an individual character. The workmanship is high quality, albeit with the rustic charm of a workshop-made product.

Waiting times from the manufacturer can be longer than with mass production. In return, you get a device with character and often direct support from the maker.

The Tinymight uses pure convection: hot air flows through the material without touching it directly. The result is a particularly clean, flavor-intensive vapor.

Two modes are available: On-Demand (instant heat when drawing, stops in between) and Session (continuous heating over several minutes). Switching is done via a switch on the device.

The maximum temperature of 230 °C is adjusted steplessly using a rotary dial. Heat-up time in On-Demand mode: under 5 seconds.

The 18650 battery is replaceable -- a major advantage for long sessions or when out and about. High-drain branded cells (Samsung 30Q, Sony VTC6) are recommended.

Battery life per battery depends on the mode: fewer sessions in Session mode than On-Demand. A spare battery solves the problem.

The Tinymight fits directly into 14-mm joints. With the glass stem as a WPA, the vapor is filtered through water. Pure convection works particularly well with water filtration.

Available in 4 shops. The Tinymight is positioned in the premium segment alongside Mighty+ and Crafty+, but offers pure convection and On-Demand -- features these do not have.

The Tinymight works with pure convection and only heats when the user draws. This saves battery and prevents material from continuing to be heated between draws. Hot air flows through the chamber and extracts active compounds evenly from the herb.

The On-Demand principle has a major advantage over session vaporizers: you can take a single draw, put the device down and continue later. The filling lasts longer because nothing is wasted. This is ideal for users who like to vaporize small amounts throughout the day.

The Tinymight uses a replaceable 18650 battery with 2600 mAh. When the battery is empty, simply insert a charged one and keep vaping. No waiting for charging time, no cable needed.

18650 cells are available cheaply from electronics retailers. Two or three spare batteries are enough for a whole weekend without a socket. The construction is a conscious design decision by the Finnish manufacturer: longevity instead of a permanently installed battery that weakens after two years.
