Convection heating and draw sensor
The PAX Flow uses pure convection. Hot air flows through the herb in the stainless steel chamber rather than heating the chamber walls directly. The result: more even extraction and a cleaner flavour profile than conduction devices.
The draw sensor starts the heater automatically when you pull on the mouthpiece – no button, no pre-heating. Heat-up takes about 20 seconds. Between draws, the heater shuts off, conserving material. This on-demand approach sets the Flow apart from older PAX models like the PAX Plus or PAX 3, which used session-based conduction.
Short single draws benefit the most from convection – the vapour tastes fresher and the herb is used more evenly.
Design, battery, and charging
At roughly 90 g, the PAX Flow is one of the lightest portable vaporizers available. The brushed aluminium shell is slim, pocketable, and feels solid in hand. Typical PAX finish: matte, minimal, no unnecessary extras.
