The Air 2's signature feature is its glass vapor path. Arizer's glass stems serve as both mouthpiece and herb chamber. Glass is flavor-neutral -- vapor arrives pure and unaltered. No plastic, no silicone in the airway.

Stems come in different lengths. Longer ones cool vapor more, shorter ones are more compact for travel. Replacement glass is cheap and easy to find.

While most portables have sealed batteries, the Air 2 uses a removable 18650 battery at 3200 mAh. Battery dead? Swap it out and keep going immediately.

A spare battery costs just a few euros and extends session time indefinitely. On trips or longer evenings, that is a real advantage over sealed-battery devices. The battery can also be replaced after a few years when capacity drops.

Arizer offers dosing capsules that fit inside the glass stems. They make loading easier on the go and keep stems cleaner. The chamber is slightly smaller with a capsule though.

Other useful accessories: the long glass Aroma Tube, a travel case, and various screen sizes. Arizer has a wide ecosystem that is also compatible with the Solo 2.

Arizer built the Air 2 around interchangeable glass stems that double as the herb chamber and the mouthpiece. Because the vapor path is almost entirely glass, there is very little flavor interference from plastics or metal. You taste the terpene profile of your material more clearly than in vapes with silicone or rubber air paths. The stems pop out for quick cleaning in isopropyl alcohol and cost only a few euros to replace if one breaks. Carrying a pre-packed stem in a tube means reloading on the go takes seconds instead of fumbling with a grinder outdoors.

Replaceable 18650 battery (3,400 mAh). Runtime is 90-120 minutes depending on temperature — roughly 15-20 sessions at 5 minutes each.

Spare cells cost under €10 and swap easily: unscrew the bottom cap, pull out the battery. Pass-through charging via Micro-USB works.

The Solo 2 MAX offers the same core performance with USB-C and longer runtime (~3 hours). If you already own a Solo 2 and are happy, no need to upgrade.

Battery Tips for Maximum Lifespan

• Don't store at 100% constantly: 18650 cells last longer when stored between 20% and 80%.
• Rotate spare batteries: Using two batteries in rotation extends the overall lifespan of both.
• Use passthrough sparingly: Charging during use stresses the battery more than normal charging.
• Original battery: Arizer recommends the included 18650 — cheap no-name cells may reduce performance.

Charging Times Overview

Two aroma tubes included: standard (straight) and frosted (cools slightly more, fits more snugly). Both borosilicate glass, both compatible with water pipe adapters (14 mm / 18 mm sold separately).

Stainless steel dosing capsules are available and keep the chamber clean. Without capsules: 0.15-0.2 g. With capsule: about 0.1 g.

The stems protrude from the top — making the Solo 2 less pocket-friendly than the ArGo, but the longer vapor path delivers cooler draws.

Cleaning the Glass Stems

Isopropyl alcohol (90%+) and a zip bag are all you need: place the stem inside, wait 30 minutes, rinse with hot water. Stubborn residue also dissolves when simmered in milk (the fats bind the resin). Clean the chamber in the device itself with the included brush — never put alcohol into the device.

Auto shut-off after adjustable time (default: 15 minutes). No Bluetooth, no app — Arizer keeps it deliberately simple. For more control, look at the Solo 3 V2 with color display and on-demand mode.

Session Workflow in Practice

1. Fill the stem: 0.15–0.2 g medium grind, loosely packed. Don't tamp down.
2. Power on: Press button 5×. Display shows heat-up phase (~30 s).
3. Inhale: Slow, steady draws over 5–10 seconds.
4. Increase temperature: After 3–5 draws, raise by 5–10 °C for more extraction.
5. End session: Device auto-shuts off after 15 min, or press 5× manually.

Setting Up Presets Effectively

The Solo 2 stores up to 10 temperature presets. In practice, 3–4 are enough:

• Preset 1 (Flavor): 180 °C — first draws of a fresh fill
• Preset 2 (Standard): 195 °C — everyday setting for most users
• Preset 3 (Intense): 210 °C — last draws or denser clouds

The MAX is an upgrade, not a redesign:

If you do not own a Solo yet and budget allows, get the MAX. If the Solo 2 is within your budget: go for it — vapor quality is identical.
