The Pivot is Puffco’s compact dab pen with a 3D chamber and real-time temperature control. Four levels from 260 to 307 °C are selectable with a click, and according to Puffco it heats up in around 20 seconds. Which Concentrates Are Suitable for a Dab Pen?

Not every concentrate is equally suited to a dab pen. The consistency determines how easy it is to load and how cleanly it vaporizes.

Wax and Crumble

Wax is soft and pliable — it can be placed directly onto the coil with a dab tool. Crumble is drier and breaks apart when loading, but vaporizes more evenly. Both are suitable for all dab pens on the list. Ideal temperature: 180–220 °C.

Shatter and Budder

Shatter is glass-like and brittle. Break off small pieces and place them on the coil — do not preheat, otherwise it melts into the chamber before it vaporizes. Budder is creamy and can be handled similarly to wax. Temperature: 200–260 °C.

Live Resin and Rosin

Live Resin contains more terpenes than other concentrates — the flavor is more intense. Low temperatures (150–200 °C) preserve the terpenes best. Rosin is produced without solvents (heat + pressure) and is therefore particularly pure. Both types are sticky — easiest to load with a heated dab tool.
