Nectar Collector instead of Dab-Pen
The Ooze Hover works in a fundamentally different way from a classic Wax-Pen: it is an electric Nectar Collector, also called a Dab-Straw. Instead of portioning concentrate onto a Coil, you hold the heated tip directly over or against the wax in the glass and draw it up while inhaling. The tip is made from fritted quartz (Fritted Quartz Tip), designed so that it clogs more slowly than an open Coil. This technique gives a lot of control over the dose, but it does require a little practice - gentle draws work better than pulling hard.
Flex-Temp and Prep mode
The Hover regulates intensity using Flex-Temp voltage control, which is cycled through with a triple click. A digital display shows the selected voltage and the battery level - not something to be taken for granted in this price class. However, Ooze does not publish specific voltage figures for the individual levels. The additional Prep mode is practical: it heats the tip in a targeted way to burn clear a blocked air path - a common annoyance with Nectar Collectors, solved here directly on the device.
Battery and everyday use
The 650-mAh battery charges via USB-C and, according to Ooze, lasts for one day or dozens of dabs; a full charge takes around two hours.
