Healthy Rips Rogue 2

The Rogue 2 heats with a convection focus: a heating element warms the air, which flows through the herb as you draw and vaporises it. A small amount of contact heat from the chamber walls is also involved, hence the classification as a hybrid. In practice, however, convection dominates, which shows in the flavour: clean and even, without the quickly “singed” character of pure conduction devices.

The advantage of this design is that the herb does not burn in isolated spots, but is reached all around by the airflow. You get more aroma out over the session and can use low temperatures for flavour-led draws without the material immediately scorching. Anyone who has used a pure conduction device before will notice the difference especially at lower settings.

The centrepiece of the Rogue 2 is the chamber made from food-grade titanium. Titanium does not take on any taste of its own, withstands constant heating over the long term and transfers heat quickly and evenly. Compared with the older Rogue SE, the heating element has been enlarged by around 30 percent, which provides faster and more even heating.

Just as important is the isolated vapour path: the vapour travels through stainless steel and glass, not over heated plastic parts. This keeps the flavour pure and prevents unwanted substances from the housing entering the vapour. The included XL glass mouthpiece additionally cools the vapour before it reaches your lungs, a noticeable difference compared with short plastic mouthpieces.

The Rogue 2 offers full digital temperature control from 138 to 221 °C (280-430 °F) in one-degree increments. There are no fixed presets restricting you; you choose the exact degree you want and see it on the OLED display. As a guide:

• 180-190 °C - flavour-focused, light vapour, lots of aroma
• 195-205 °C - balanced, good mix of flavour and vapour production
• 210-221 °C - dense clouds, full extraction, less aroma

If you are after flavour, start low and increase during the session. For dense draws in a short time, go straight higher. The one-degree increments make it easy to find your personal sweet spot and hit it precisely every time.

The Rogue 2 is ready to use after about 25 seconds according to the manufacturer; in practice, users report around 20 to 30 seconds depending on the target temperature. That puts it clearly ahead of pure convection devices and roughly on a par with good portable hybrids.

The haptic feedback is practical: as soon as the set temperature is reached, the device vibrates briefly. You do not have to stare at the display, but know from the vibration when you can draw. This prevents the most common beginner mistake: drawing too early and getting only hot air instead of vapour.

Inside the Rogue 2 is a fixed 3000-mAh lithium-polymer battery. Depending on temperature, this is enough for around 85 to 100 minutes of continuous use, meaning plenty of sessions per charge. Compared with the more compact Fury 3 (2300 mAh), the Rogue 2 has noticeably more stamina, one of the main reasons to choose the larger device.

The battery is not replaceable. This is the Rogue 2's most important compromise: if you prefer devices with swappable 18650 cells so you can simply change batteries on the go, you will need a wall socket or power bank here. In return, the housing is more compact and sturdier without a battery compartment door. Over its lifespan, a fixed battery cannot be replaced by the user, but with normal use it should last for many hundreds of charge cycles.

The Rogue 2 charges via USB-C with fast charging; a full charge takes about 90 minutes. A suitable cable is included. It is best to use a charger with sufficient output so that fast charging can take effect.

Important for heavy users: the Rogue 2 supports pass-through charging. You can therefore use the device while it is charging. If the battery is empty, simply plug it in and keep vaping. This was not yet possible with the older Rogue SE and is one of the Rogue 2's key improvements. Especially at home at a desk, it removes the worry that the battery will die in the middle of a session.

The Rogue 2 is compatible with dosing capsules, small stainless steel containers that you fill with herb in advance and then place in the chamber. One capsule is included with the device. The benefit: you prepare several capsules at home and swap them in seconds while out and about, without handling loose herb.

This keeps the chamber cleaner because the material stays inside the capsule, and makes switching between different strains easy. For use on the go, this is the most convenient way to run the Rogue 2. If you prefer loose loading, simply leave the capsule out. Both methods work.

The Rogue 2 mouthpiece is a sliding glass mouthpiece with magnetic closure; the included XL glass stem (around 80 mm) cools the vapour and can be replaced if broken. Pleasant for beginners and heavy users alike: a long glass draw instead of a short, hot mouthpiece.

If you want more intense and especially cool draws, use a water pipe adapter (WPA). Healthy Rips offers a glass adapter suitable for common joints (10/14/18 mm), allowing you to connect the Rogue 2 to a bong so the vapour is additionally filtered and cooled through water. The adapter is available separately and is not included in the box.

Operation is mechanical and requires no app:

1. Switch on: press the power button five times quickly. The OLED display wakes up and shows the target temperature.
2. Fill the chamber: remove the mouthpiece, loosely add medium-fine ground herb (do not tamp) or insert a dosing capsule.
3. Select temperature: use the buttons to set the desired degree value (138-221 °C).
4. Heat up: after around 25 seconds the device vibrates; the target temperature has now been reached.
5. Draw: inhale slowly and evenly for 10-15 seconds.

A session timer (adjustable between about 3 and 8 minutes) automatically switches the device off when the time has elapsed, helping to preserve the battery. To switch it off manually, press the power button five times again.

A few simple steps make the difference with the Rogue 2:

• Grind: medium-fine and even. Too coarse lets air pass by, too fine clogs the screens.
• Fill amount: fill the chamber loosely, do not press it down; the airflow must be able to pass through the material.
• Temperature ramp: start low (around 180 °C) for full flavour, then increase gradually to release the remaining active compounds.
• Draw technique: draw slowly and for longer. With convection, a calm draw produces more vapour than short, frantic pulling.

If you follow these points, you will get significantly more aroma and vapour from the same amount of herb. The titanium chamber and isolated vapour path show their strengths especially in the lower temperature range.

Rogue 2 and Fury 3 are Healthy Rips' two 2024 devices and share a lot: titanium chamber, convection-focused hybrid heating, 138-221 °C, digital temperature, pass-through charging and dosing capsules. The differences are in size and battery:

• Size: The Fury 3 is more compact and lighter (around 159 g), so better for a pocket. The Rogue 2 is the larger device.
• Battery: Rogue 2 with 3000 mAh versus 2300 mAh in the Fury 3, giving the Rogue 2 more runtime per charge.
• Price: The Fury 3 is usually a little cheaper.

In short: if you want the most compact, cheapest device and shorter sessions are fine, choose the Fury 3. If you value longer battery life and a little more chamber volume, and the slightly larger form factor does not bother you, the Rogue 2 is the better choice.

The Fury Edge SE is the particularly compact model in the Healthy Rips family and is aimed at anyone who wants maximum mobility. Compared with the Rogue 2, it is smaller and handier, but offers less battery capacity and a smaller heating element.

The Rogue 2 is the choice if the larger titanium chamber, stronger 3000-mAh battery and pass-through charging matter more to you than the smallest possible form factor. For home use and longer sessions, the Rogue 2 is better equipped; for a trouser pocket on the go, the Fury Edge SE scores points.

If you own a Rogue SE or the original Rogue, the Rogue 2 brings three tangible improvements:

• Titanium chamber with around 30 % larger heating element - faster, more even heating.
• Pass-through charging - not yet possible with the Rogue SE; now you can vape while charging.
• Isolated vapour path and XL glass mouthpiece for clean, cooled flavour.

Practical point: the Rogue 2 is compatible with Rogue SE accessories, so existing parts can continue to be used. For owners of an older Rogue, the upgrade is especially interesting because of the titanium chamber and pass-through charging. If you already have a well-running Rogue SE and can live with its battery performance, you do not absolutely have to switch. The step up is noticeable, but not a generational leap at any price.

In its price class, the Rogue 2 faces strong competition:

• POTV Lobo: similarly positioned, with a replaceable 18650 battery, an argument for anyone who wants swappable cells.
• Arizer Solo 3 V2: pure convection device with long battery life and very clean flavour, but larger and heavier.
• Storz & Bickel Mighty+: the premium benchmark with hybrid heating, much more expensive, but a reference point for vapour quality and battery life.

The Rogue 2 plays to its strengths through its value for money: titanium chamber, digital temperature and pass-through at a mid-range price. If you need replaceable batteries, look at the Lobo; if you want the maximum in vapour quality and are willing to spend more, look at the Mighty+.

The Rogue 2 is easy to maintain, but benefits from regular cleaning:

• After each session: briefly brush out the chamber with the included brush while the device is still slightly warm, as residue loosens more easily this way.
• Weekly: remove the mouthpiece and place it in isopropyl alcohol for a few minutes, then rinse with water and let it dry. Clean the vapour path with a cotton bud soaked in alcohol.
• Screens: check if airflow drops off and replace if needed.

The titanium chamber handles this cleaning without issue and does not take on any taste of its own. If you keep the mouthpiece clean, you preserve a fresh flavour over the long term. For longer periods without use, it is best to store the battery at about half charge and away from direct heat.

Healthy Rips covers the Rogue 2 with a one-year warranty for free replacement. In addition, there is a lifetime half-price replacement warranty: if the device develops a fault after the first warranty period, you can permanently get a replacement device for half the list price. That is fair protection in this price class.

Wear parts such as the mouthpiece, glass stem, screens and dosing capsules are available separately, as is the water pipe adapter. Since the Rogue 2 shares accessories with the Rogue SE, spare parts availability is good. With normal use, however, you should not need to replace the isolated vapour path or titanium chamber.

• Little vapour: usually ground too finely or the chamber packed too tightly. Fill more loosely, grind medium-fine. A higher temperature also helps.
• Only hot air: you drew too early. Wait for the vibration that signals the temperature has been reached.
• Weak draw resistance or clogging: clean the screens and vapour path, and replace the screen if necessary.
• Device charges slowly: use a more powerful USB-C power adapter so fast charging can take effect.
• Battery drains quickly: normal at high temperatures and during long sessions. Use pass-through or recharge between sessions.

The Healthy Rips Rogue 2 is the right choice if you are looking for a flavourful mid-range vaporizer with a titanium chamber and value digital temperature control, pass-through charging and good value for money. The longer battery life and larger chamber make it the stronger of the two 2024 Healthy Rips devices.

It is less suitable if you want the smallest possible device (then the Fury 3 is more appropriate) or absolutely need replaceable batteries (then the POTV Lobo). If you can live with the fixed battery, the Rogue 2 gives you a durable, flavourful device with a fair warranty.
