Tinymight 2 review: Pure convection vaporizer from Finland
The Tinymight 2 is built by a single person. Sami, the founder of Tinymight, makes every single vaporizer in his workshop in Helsinki. That sounds like a niche story — and that’s exactly it. But this vaporizer has a fan base that can hardly be compared to any other device. Why?
Because the Tinymight 2 does something almost no other portable vaporizer can: true on-demand convection in under 3 seconds. No preheating, no waiting. Press the button, pull, done. Full of flavor from the first puff.
In this test we look at everything: heating power, battery system, steam quality at different temperature levels, water pipe suitability and how the TM2 stacks up against VENTY and DynaVap. Plus current prices — because the market has moved quite a bit since the release.
Current: Tinymight 2 from ~59 € at 32 shops in price comparison.
Design and processing
The first thing you notice: wood. The Tinymight 2 has a walnut case that feels warm and organic. No plastic, no silicone coating. The wood is oiled and shows natural grain – every device looks slightly different. The processing is artisanal, not industrial. Anyone interested in Storz & If you are used to Bickel or PAX, you will immediately notice the difference.
The device is heavier in the hand than a VENTY or Frolic. But it feels like an item that you want to use for 10 years. The glass stems are firmly in place, the temperature dial on the bottom clicks into place, the lid closes magnetically.
The Tinymight 2 is not compact, however. With the glass stem inserted, it is significantly longer than a Venty. It’s not meant to be kept in your pocket – It fits well in a jacket pocket or backpack.
In terms of weight, the TM2 weighs around 110 grams without the glass stem. This is lighter than a Mighty+ (135g) and comparable to the Frolic. You hardly notice it in your backpack or jacket pocket. The wooden surface becomes slightly warm when steaming, but never uncomfortably hot; – an advantage over metal housings like the IQ2 or Argo.
Heating: Pure convection, 3 seconds
The heart. The Tinymight 2 uses pure convection: hot air is drawn through the material without heating the chamber walls themselves. The result: maximum flavor, no baking between puffs, full extraction in 2-3 puffs.
The heating time is around 3 seconds. This is not a marketing promise — the heater actually reaches operating temperature within 3 seconds. For comparison: A VENTY takes 20 seconds, a DynaVap M Plus with an induction heater takes around 8 seconds. The Tinymight 2 is the fastest electric vaporizer on the market.
What this means in practice: You press the button, pull, and after the first pull you have dense clouds. No warm-up ritual, no waiting time. For people who want to use their vaporizer like a pipe – pull briefly, put away, continue later – there is nothing better.
On-Demand vs. Session mode: The unique selling point
The Tinymight 2 can do both. The mode is controlled via the position of the cooling unit:
- On-Demand: Cooling Unit pressed in. The heater only activates when pulling (draw-activated). No need to press a button. Nothing heats between trains — the material is protected.
- Session: Cooling Unit pulled out. The heater runs continuously, like a classic session vaporizer. Good for longer, relaxed sessions.
Most users prefer on-demand mode. He’s what makes Tinymight 2 special. Session mode works, but there are cheaper alternatives.
Why on-demand is so special
The vast majority of vaporizers on the market are session devices. You turn it on, wait 20-30 seconds, vape for 5-10 minutes, and the chamber is empty. This works well if you want to take your time. But in everyday life you often don’t need this.
On-Demand means: a filling lasts as long as you want. One train in the morning, two trains at lunchtime, the rest in the evening. The material is only heated when air is drawn through the chamber. Nothing happens in between. No degradation, no loss of taste, no waste of material.
In practice it looks like this: You fill the chamber, take one or two puffs, put the device down. Hours later you pick it up again, press the button, pull – and the taste is almost identical to the first puff. With a session vaporizer, half the filling would be baked by now.
This saves material. Not theoretically, but noticeably. Many TM2 users report that they get 30-50% longer on the same amount of material than on a session device. This is due to the lack of residual heat between the trains.
Session mode: When is it worth it?
The session mode has its place. If you sit on the sofa in the evening and want to steam slowly for 10 minutes, pull out the cooling unit. The heater then remains permanently at the set temperature. This feels similar to a Crafty+ or Solo 3 – even, predictable vapor without perfect drawing technique.
One disadvantage in session mode: The single 18650 battery drains faster than dedicated session devices with larger batteries. 3-4 full sessions are realistic before the battery needs to be changed.
Temperature control via rotary wheel
At the bottom of the Tinymight 2 there is a dial with a scale from 0 to 10. The assignment is approximately:
| Level | Approx. Temperature | Recommendation |
|---|---|---|
| 2-3 | ~170-180 °C | Taste, light effect |
| 4-5 | ~185-200 °C | Balanced, full flavor |
| 6-7 | ~205-220 °C | Heavy clouds, full extraction |
| 8-10 | ~225-240°C | Maximum Extraction |
No app, no display, no Bluetooth. The dial is the only control — along with the on/off button. If you want exact degrees, you are better off with the VENTY or Mighty+. If you want to vape intuitively, you can learn the scale in two sessions.
Tips for the correct setting
The happy medium for most users: level 5. Here you get good taste with noticeable vapor production. If you are using the TM2 for the first time, you should start at 4 and work your way up slowly.
A tried and tested method: First two hits at level 4 for flavor, then turn it up to 6-7 for the rest. So you first get the terpenes out and then extract the rest. This results in 4-6 puffs with changing characters per filling – from fruity-aromatic to dense-warm.
levels above 8 produce extremely dense vapor that can become unpleasant without a water pipe or long glass stem. The irritation in the throat increases noticeably. For daily use, most people stick with 5-7.
Removable battery in everyday life: 18650 as a game changer
The Tinymight 2 uses a single 18650 cell with 2,2800 mAh. That’s enough for about 8-12 on-demand sessions or 5-7 full session mode runs.
The crucial point: The battery is replaceable. Unscrew the cover, take out the cell, put in a new one, move on. With two or three spare batteries (~5 € each) you have virtually unlimited runtime. Very few modern vaporizers offer this — DynaVap doesn’t need a battery at all, but what else? The Mighty+ has a built-in battery, the VENTY as well, the Frolic as well.
Passthrough charging is supported: vaping while charging works. USB-C port, charging time around 2 hours.
External charging: The better way
Many experienced TM2 users do not charge their batteries in the device at all. Instead they use an external 18650 loader — such as the Nitecore i2 or XTAR VC2. The advantages:
- Generator: External chargers regulate the charging current and shutdown more precisely. The battery life increases.
- Faster alternation: Three batteries rotate, one always charged. No waiting time.
- Independent of the device: The TM2 remains free while the battery charges externally.
A set of three high-quality 18650 cells (Samsung 30Q or Sony VTC6) plus an external charger costs around 30-40 euros. This gives you a battery solution that is not available with any vaporizer with a solid battery. After two years, a permanently installed battery is noticeably weaker – with the TM2 you simply buy new cells for 5 euros.
Steam quality in detail
The Tinymight 2 is at the forefront here. Pure convection delivers the cleanest, most flavorful vapor. No further baking, no residual heat from the chamber walls. The material is only heated when air flows through it.
At levels 4-5 you get dense, flavorful clouds with a full terpene profile. At level 7+ the vapor becomes warmer and denser – The long glass stem or water pipe helps here.
Traction technology: That’s what matters
The Tinymight 2 is not a device that you just turn on and pull at random. The pulling technique significantly influences the result – more than session vaporizers.
Pull slowly and evenly – that is the basic rule. A pull that is too fast moves the hot air through the chamber too quickly, heating the outer layers of the material but leaving the core cool. A slow, controlled pull of 5-8 seconds gives the heat time to penetrate the entire material evenly.
Locker pack, don’t stuff. The material should fill the chamber but not be pressed. Air must be able to flow through – with convection, airflow is everything. A chamber that is too tightly packed will result in uneven extraction and lower vapor volume.
A trick for maximum clouds: press the button for 2 seconds without pulling. Then pull slowly. This short delay gives the heater a head start and the first move comes even closer.
ABV: What’s left?
When used correctly, the Already Been Vaped (ABV) material looks uniformly light brown to medium brown. No black spots, no green residue. This indicates uniform extraction. Some users collect their ABV and reuse it — With pure convection, there are still enough active ingredients left for edibles or tea.
Glass Stems and Hookah Compatibility
The glass trunks are a central element. A short and a long trunk are included in delivery. The long stem cools the steam noticeably better – recommended for high temperatures (7+).
The highlight: The glass stems have a diameter of 14 mm. This corresponds exactly to the standard cut for water pipes. You don’t need an adapter — Take out the glass stem, insert Tinymight 2 directly into the 14 mm cut, done. This is the most elegant water pipe solution on the market.
Through Water: A Different Experience
Using the Tinymight 2 through a water pipe fundamentally changes the vaping experience. The advantages:
- Higher temperatures become pleasant. Levels 8-10 produce very warm, sometimes scratchy steam without water. With water you can go all out without irritation.
- Bigger hits possible. The cooling allows you to pull longer and deeper. This enables complete filling in 1-2 huge moves.
- Visually impressive. The TM2’s vapor production at level 7+ through water is enormous. Thick, milky clouds pouring out of the hookah.
A small bubbler piece with a 14 mm cut is sufficient. No need for a huge hookah. Compact bubblers with little volume are recommended – They preserve the flavor better than large chambers that dilute the vapor too much.
Disadvantage: Glass breaks. If you use the Tinymight 2 a lot on the go, you should have spare trunks with you. They cost between 10 and 20 euros individually — bearable, but annoying when the last trunk at the festival breaks.
TM2 vs. VENTY: On-Demand vs. Session King
Compared to the VENTY: The VENTY delivers more even, slightly thicker vapor throughout the entire session thanks to its hybrid heating system. The Tinymight 2 delivers more intense first hits with more flavor, but then falls off more quickly. For on-demand fans, the TM2 is unbeatable. The VENTY is more comfortable for session vapers.
The differences at a glance:
| Criteria | Tinymight 2 | VENTY |
|---|---|---|
| Heating type | Pure convection | Hybrid (convection + conduction) |
| Heating time | 3 seconds | 20 seconds |
| Mode | On-Demand + Session | Session only |
| Abattery | Replaceable (18650) | Fixed |
| Control | Swivel wheel | Display + App |
| Waterpipe | Native 14 mm | Adapter required |
| Price from | ~59 € | ~349 € |
Es are two fundamentally different devices for different types of users. The detailed comparison can be found here: Tinymight 2 vs VENTY – On-Demand or Session?
TM2 vs. DynaVap: Two on-demand philosophies
If you want on-demand, sooner or later you will end up with two names: Tinymight 2 and DynaVap. Both rely on immediate heat supply without a preheating phase. The approach couldn’t be more different.
The DynaVap M Plus works with a butane lighter or induction heater. The heating time depends on the heater or flame technology – typically 5-12 seconds. No battery, no electronic failure, extremely robust. But less consistent than the TM2: Every move with the DynaVap depends on your own technique. Heated too close to the cap — too hot. Too far away — too mild.
The TM2 delivers reproducibly identical results. Turn the dial to 5, press the button, pull – same steam, every time. It needs a charged battery and costs more.
Many owners have both. DynaVap for on the go (fits in every pocket, indestructible), TM2 for at home or if you want extra flavor and a larger chamber. The combination covers practically every situation.
What does the community say?
The Tinymight 2 has a permanent place on r/vaporents, the largest vaporizer forum on Reddit. He regularly appears in “What’s the best on-demand vaporizer?” threads — and the answers are usually clear.
Frequently read statements from the community:
- “The TM2 is the King of On-Demand. Nothing else even comes close.” – That’s the tenor of most comparison threads.
- “Replaceable battery alone is a reason to buy.” – Owners of older Mighty models whose batteries have worn out after 2-3 years particularly appreciate this point.
- “The pulling technique takes some practice. The first time I hardly had any steam – it was because I pulled too quickly.” – The learning curve is honestly discussed. No plug-and-play like with the VENTY.
- “Water makes the TM2 a completely different device.” – 14mm compatibility is regularly cited as the best feature after convection.
There is also criticism. The glass stems are fragile, the dial doesn’t give an exact temperature, and availability has long been an issue – Sami couldn’t keep up with the demand. There are now enough devices in circulation, and the drop in prices suggests that a successor (TM3?) could be in the pipeline.

Price situation
The Tinymight 2 was originally priced at around €349. sold — directly via Tinymight.com, as there were hardly any resellers at the beginning. The TM2 is now listed in 32 shops and the price is around €59. fallen. Yes, that’s right: a pure convection vaporizer with a glass stem, removable battery and Finnish handcraft for under 60 euros.
This makes the Tinymight 2 one of the best price-performance ratios on the entire market. Even if you ignore the price – the vapor quality and on-demand capability alone justify the purchase.
Why the price drop? The most likely explanation: Rumors about a Tinymight 3 have been circulating in the community for months. Resellers clear inventory. This means for buyers: The TM2 has never been so affordable, and the technology behind it is still up to date. A TM3 wouldn’t suddenly make the TM2 worse.

Cleaning and maintenance
The Tinymight 2 is low maintenance, but not maintenance free. The glass stems collect condensate over time – visible as a brownish film on the glass. Cleaning is simple: place the glass stem in isopropyl alcohol (99%), wait 30 minutes, rinse with warm water. Done.
The chamber itself needs less attention. After each session, give it a quick tap or sweep it out with the brush provided. Every few weeks, wipe a cotton ball with a little isopropanol through the chamber — that’s enough.
The sieve in the mouthpiece should be changed or cleaned every 2-4 weeks. Clogged sieves noticeably reduce the air flow and therefore the quality of the steam. Replacement screens are inexpensive and available from most TM2 dealers.
F Who is the Tinymight 2 for?
Ideal for:
- On-demand fans who want to vape quickly and easily
- Flavor purists who prefer pure convection steam
- Waterpipe users thanks to the native 14 mm connection
- People who want removable batteries and don’t want to rely on fixed batteries
- Collectors who value handcrafted devices
- Price conscious buyers – under 60 € There is no comparable convection vaporizer
Less suitable for:
- Beginners who want a simple one-button device with a display
- On-the-go vapers who need a compact, shockproof device (glass stems!)
- App fans — the TM2 has neither app nor Bluetooth
- dosage capsule users — not compatible
- People who need exact temperature information on a display
Conclusion
The Tinymight 2 is not a mass-produced product. It’s a handcrafted convection vaporizer with features that you either love or don’t need. The on-demand capability is unrivaled, the vapor quality is among the best on the market, and the removable battery solves a problem that almost all competitors ignore.
The pulling technology needs to be learned — If you take 15 minutes, you’ll get it. After that, the TM2 reliably delivers the most flavorful vapor a portable vaporizer can produce. Native hookah compatibility makes it even more versatile, and the replaceable battery system means this device will still work the same in 5 years as it did on day one.
At the current price of around 59 € There is simply no reason not to at least try this vaporizer. If you want on-demand, you get the best there is here — handmade in Helsinki.
