About this vaporizer
The PAX Four is the newest model in the PAX lineup, combining hybrid heating with a compact 1300 mAh battery. Its 20-second heat-up to 215°C is fast for a conduction-leaning device. Unlike older PAX models, the PAX Four features app connectivity for custom temperature profiles.
The device supports passthrough charging. Water pipe compatibility and dosing capsules are not available on the PAX Four. The 1300 mAh battery is small — this noticeably limits sessions per charge compared to other devices.
For users who value the latest PAX technology with app integration and prefer short, precise sessions, the PAX Four is a current option. For longer sessions or water pipe use, older PAX models or alternatives are better suited.

What's new with the PAX Four?
Battery and handling
Design and Build Quality
The PAX Four refines the aluminium unibody design that made earlier PAX models popular. It is lighter than the PAX 3, with a matte finish that resists fingerprints better. The flat mouthpiece sits flush with the body, and the oven lid uses a magnetic latch for quick loading. Physical dimensions are compact enough for a jeans pocket, and the device activates automatically when you draw — no button press needed. Build quality feels premium, with tight tolerances and no creaking or flex in the shell.
Temperature Control and App
PAX Four offers four preset temperature levels accessible via the on-device interface, plus precise single-degree control through the PAX app over Bluetooth. The range spans 182 °C to 215 °C. For flavour-focused sessions, the lowest setting around 182 °C produces light, terpene-rich vapour. The second and third levels at roughly 193 °C and 204 °C cover the midrange sweet spot most users prefer. The highest setting extracts remaining active compounds efficiently but produces warmer vapour. The app also supports custom session profiles and tracks usage over time.
Oven Efficiency and Session Tips
The PAX Four oven holds about 0.3 g of ground material. A medium-fine grind packed with gentle pressure works best — too loose and extraction is uneven, too tight and airflow suffers. Half-pack mode using the oven lid insert is useful for solo sessions, reducing material use without hurting performance. Each full oven lasts around 8–10 minutes across a single session. Stirring the oven halfway through can improve extraction, especially at lower temperatures. The lip-sensing technology pauses heating between draws, which conserves material and battery.
Cleaning and Maintenance
The PAX Four needs regular cleaning to stay functional. After each session, tap out spent material while the oven is still warm. Every week, run a pipe cleaner dampened with isopropyl alcohol through the vapour path from the oven to the mouthpiece. The oven screen can be popped out with a small tool and soaked in iso for 15 minutes. The mouthpiece itself lifts off for separate cleaning. Neglecting maintenance leads to increased draw resistance and reduced flavour quality — 5 minutes of weekly care keeps the device performing well.
PAX Four vs PAX 3
The PAX Four upgrades from the PAX 3 with USB-C charging (replacing the proprietary dock), improved battery life, and refined haptic feedback. The chamber size and heating system remain similar. If you already own a PAX 3 in good condition, the upgrade is optional. New buyers should go directly for the Four.
