The PLENTY is a corded handheld vaporizer made by Storz & Bickel in Tuttlingen, Germany. Its pistol-grip shape sets it apart from every other vaporizer on the market. It uses a patented hybrid heating system combining convection and conduction, reaching temperatures from roughly 130 to 202 degrees Celsius across 7 steps.
Heat-up takes about 4.5 minutes at step 5 (around 180 degrees Celsius). Inhalation works through a tube with mouthpiece, powered entirely by lung draw without any pump. The PLENTY has no display, no app, no Bluetooth. A bimetal temperature controller regulates the heater in a purely electromechanical way. At 700 grams, with an extra-wide filling chamber (3.4 cm3, roughly 600 mg) and a stainless steel cooling spiral for smooth vapor, the PLENTY retails at 248 euros.

Design & Controls
The PLENTY stands out with its pistol-grip design. Unlike desktop vaporizers, it is held in the hand but stays connected to a power outlet via a fixed power cable at all times. No battery, no charging time.
Temperature setting:
A dial with 7 marked steps sits on top of the device. The steps correspond to temperatures from roughly 130 to 202 degrees Celsius. A thermometer on the unit shows the current device temperature, so you can track the heat-up process at any time.
Purely electromechanical:
Inside the device, a bimetal temperature controller cuts off the heater independently from the dial if the temperature rises too high. A second, independent bimetal switch acts as an additional safety mechanism. No chip, no processor -- the PLENTY runs on pure mechanics. That makes it exceptionally durable.
The auto shut-off kicks in once the set target temperature is reached. The heater turns off and only activates again when the temperature drops below the setpoint.

Heating System & Temperature
The PLENTY uses a patented hybrid heating system combining convection (hot air) and conduction (contact heat). The drawn-in air is heated at the heating element and flows through the material in the filling chamber, while the chamber walls simultaneously transfer heat to the material.
Temperature ranges:
- Step 1-2 (~130-150 degrees Celsius): Light, flavor-rich vapor. Good for beginners.
- Step 3-4 (~155-170 degrees Celsius): Moderate vapor production with solid flavor.
- Step 5 (~180 degrees Celsius): Standard setting. Balanced ratio of vapor and taste.
- Step 6-7 (~190-202 degrees Celsius): Dense, strong vapor. More extraction, fewer flavor nuances.
Heat-up time:
At step 5 (around 180 degrees Celsius) heating takes roughly 4.5 minutes. That is noticeably slower than the Volcano Hybrid (40 seconds), but it comes down to the deliberately simple, electromechanical design with no power electronics.
The automatic shut-off activates after reaching the target temperature. The device cycles the heater on and off to maintain the set temperature.

Cooling Spiral & Inhalation
Between the filling chamber and the mouthpiece sits a stainless steel cooling spiral. The spiral cools the vapor on its way to the mouthpiece and delivers a smooth, comfortable draw.
Airflow:
The PLENTY allows airflow of up to 30 liters per minute, powered purely by lung draw. There is no pump -- vapor is drawn from the device solely by inhaling. Draw resistance is low, almost like breathing freely.
Tube pieces:
The package includes two tube pieces: one long, one short. Depending on preference, the longer piece offers more cooling distance, while the shorter one is more compact and direct.
Breathing technique:
Storz & Bickel recommends using only about half of your lung capacity. Inhale slowly and steadily, hold the vapor for a few seconds, then exhale slowly. Short, rushed draws are less effective and may cause coughing.

Filling Chamber
The filling chamber of the PLENTY is designed extra wide: with a volume of 3.4 cm3 and a capacity of about 600 mg, it offers significantly more space than the chambers of most portable vaporizers.
Material & construction:
The chamber is made of aluminum and shaped to create a large surface area. This ensures the plant material is evenly surrounded by hot air and heated through contact. Storz & Bickel describes the result as "strong draws and exceptional vapor production."
Filling chamber adapter:
For smaller amounts, a filling chamber adapter is available as a separate accessory. It reduces the usable volume and works well for single portions.
Dosing capsules:
The PLENTY is compatible with Storz & Bickel dosing capsules. These small aluminum capsules keep the chamber clean and allow quick material changes. The dosing capsules are stored and prepared in a separate capsule magazine.
Cleaning:
The filling chamber disassembles without tools. The screens (30 mm diameter) should be brushed with the included cleaning brush after each session. All removable parts can be soaked in isopropyl alcohol (max. 30 minutes) or cleaned in a dishwasher.

Using concentrates:
The PLENTY works with Liquid Pads from Storz & Bickel. Place the pad inside the filling chamber and spread the concentrate on top. This prevents the material from seeping through the screen and keeps the chamber clean.
Temperature step 5 to 6 (around 180-190 degrees Celsius) works well. Higher settings produce denser clouds, lower settings bring out more flavor. A set of 8 Liquid Pads costs about 10 euros from the S&B store.
Wear parts & replacement costs:
- Screens (30 mm) — Normal Screen Set for about 6 euros. Replace when airflow drops or screens are permanently discolored.
- Tube pieces — Replacement set around 10 euros. Swap when yellowed or the material feels brittle.
- Sealing rings — A few euros each. Change when vapor escapes around the filling chamber.
- Cooling spiral — Lasts a long time with regular cleaning. Only replace if physically damaged.
All replacement parts are available from the Storz & Bickel online store.
