Titanium heater head
Vapvana calls the Screwball its titanium workhorse, part of its lineup since day one. The heater head comes fully assembled, with a wooden handle, coil guard, and rubies already loaded. Because the head is 25 mm wide, Vapvana uses small 2.5 mm rubies: around 750 pieces that create a large heat-transfer surface. Together with the hybrid heating, this is intended to deliver good results even at lower temperatures.
The ruby bed stores heat and transfers it to the air during inhalation. Vapvana describes it as a device for people who want plenty of power: at a low temperature for flavor, turned up for dense clouds, for relaxed sessions, or for a single powerful draw.
Diffuser head and hybrid heating
The Screwball is a diffuser head: wider than the bowl, it rests on top of it. This allows the hot metal of the head to heat the bowl as well, which Vapvana says produces denser vapor and stronger effects. Injector heads, by contrast, sit inside the bowl and direct only hot air through the material; Vapvana describes them as the more flavor-focused design.
According to the manufacturer, the heater head fits the Ace glass bowl and the Screwball hybrid bowls in 20 and 15 mm. The bowls are designed for Vapvana devices; you use them with third-party heater heads at your own risk.
Bowl and capacity
The modular bowl is made of titanium and has glass adapters for 14 and 18 mm, allowing it to fit different water pipes. It includes two inserts: The large one holds up to approximately 0.4 g of ground material, or approximately 0.2 g when half-filled. The small one holds approximately 0.2 g, or approximately 0.1 g when half-filled. Replacement screens in 20 and 15 mm as well as O-rings are included.
Temperature and cleaning
Vapvana does not specify a temperature range for the Screwball. The manufacturer's ball vape guide states that heater heads often operate at 232 to 343 °C (450 to 650 °F). Start low and adjust in increments of 10 to 15 degrees until the flavor and vapor suit your preference. Before the first session, Vapvana recommends approximately 5 minutes of preheating for ball vapes.
Brush out the bowl after every session while it is still warm. For thorough cleaning, Vapvana recommends soaking the bowl, glass, and screen in 91 % or higher isopropyl alcohol for at least 30 to 60 minutes, then rinsing them thoroughly with hot water. Clean the heater head using heat only: 20 to 30 minutes at 399 °C (750 °F) or higher; the titanium may discolor during this process. Liquid must never come into contact with the heater head or coil.
