About this vaporizer
The CrossingTech Ruby Twist Pro is a desktop convection e-nail for concentrates, and it earns the "convection" label properly — hot air is passed through the extract rather than relying on direct contact heat. That matters for flavor. Terpenes survive better when they're not sitting on a scorching surface, and anyone who's used a quality convection setup can tell the difference.
Temperature range runs from 260°C to 330°C, which covers waxes, shatters, rosins, and most other concentrate forms. The precise control lets you dial in the sweet spot for whatever you're working with rather than settling for a generic "medium" setting. Heat-up takes around 45 seconds — not instant, but you'd expect that from a desktop unit doing things properly.
Water pipe compatibility is built into the design. The Ruby Twist Pro connects to standard glass rigs directly, and using it with a water filtration setup transforms the experience. At the temperatures a quality e-nail operates, cooling and filtering the vapor makes a genuine difference in comfort and flavor delivery.
Running on AC power means zero battery management. For home setups where the device lives on a shelf or table, that's ideal — consistent voltage, consistent temperature stability. The PID controller holds the set temperature reliably, which is where CrossingTech's reputation for precision electronics shows through.
If you're serious about concentrates and have a glass setup you're happy with, the Ruby Twist Pro integrates into that setup cleanly. It's not a beginner device — the 260°C lower limit assumes you know what you're doing — but for experienced users it delivers consistently excellent results. One-year warranty.

Design: Injector with Ruby Balls
The Ruby Twist Pro uses an injector design: The heating head slots into the Bowl from above and forces the hot airflow through the material. At its core is a titanium chamber filled with ruby balls measuring 2.5 millimetres in diameter. These balls store heat and transfer it to the air flowing through them during inhalation. This distinguishes the design from traditional convection vaporisers, in which air passes a heating coil and can absorb considerably less heat.
The design is based on the Thermal Twist. Its solid metal core with a spiral twist was replaced by the ruby filling, increasing the heat capacity. There is no battery: The device remains permanently connected to the mains.
Air Path Made of Titanium, Glass and Ruby
Only three materials come into contact with the vapour in the air path: titanium, glass and ruby. All three are chemically inert at the temperatures used here and impart no flavour of their own. Plastic and adhesive never come into contact with the vapour — this is why ball vapes are regarded as the benchmark for flavour.
The package includes 155 ruby balls. The separately available Conversion Kit allows the chamber to be upgraded to 255 balls. More balls mean greater thermal mass: The temperature drops less during long draws, although heating takes slightly longer.
PID Control and Temperature Range
A PID controller keeps the temperature constant. Unlike a simple dimmer, it actively makes adjustments: It measures the actual temperature, compares it with the target value and continuously adjusts the heating power. Once set, no further intervention is required during the session.
The usable range is between 260 and 330 degrees Celsius. This refers to the temperature at the heating coil, not that of the vapour — the vapour reaches the mouth considerably cooler, particularly because it also passes through water. The device takes around 45 seconds to become ready for use. Vapour is produced on demand: There is no session with a fixed end, only as much vapour as you request at that moment.
What Is Required for Operation
A water pipe with a 14- or 18-millimetre joint is essential and is not included. You will also need the Bowl that holds the material. CrossingTech offers several options: the Original Glass Bowl for standard loads, the Microdose Bowl for small portions and the Titanium Matrix Bowl. Both herbs and concentrates can be processed, depending on the Bowl.
There are two things you should know beforehand. Firstly, the device needs a permanent location: It weighs around 860 grams, is connected by a cable and is not intended for use on the go. Secondly, the heating head and Bowl become very hot during operation and remain exposed. The wooden handle and stainless-steel heat shield make handling easier, but in a household with children or pets, the device should not be left unattended on a table.
The Pro Compared with the First Ruby Twist
The Pro version uses smaller ruby balls than the first series. This may sound like a minor detail, but it improves airflow through the chamber and therefore vapour production. It also features a handcrafted wooden handle, a thicker heat shield and a revised Titanium Matrix Injector with a 20-millimetre Coil.
Owners of the first Ruby Twist do not need to buy a new device: An Upgrade Kit brings the older device up to Pro specification. The differences concern build quality and handling rather than the underlying principle — both versions heat the same type of ruby chamber.

Yes. The device has no mouthpiece of its own, so the vapour always passes through a water pipe. Joints measuring 14 or 18 millimetres are suitable. The Bong is not included.
Smaller ruby balls for better airflow, a wooden handle, a thicker heat shield and a revised Titanium Matrix Injector with a 20-millimetre Coil. The underlying principle is identical. Existing devices can be retrofitted with an Upgrade Kit.
It takes approximately 45 seconds to reach operating temperature. The PID controller then maintains the setting without requiring further adjustment.
Both; the Bowl is the deciding factor. For herbs, there are the Original Glass Bowl and the Microdose Bowl for small amounts, while suitable inserts for concentrates are available from the CrossingTech accessories range.
It increases the thermal mass, so the temperature drops less during long draws. Those who primarily vape small portions will barely notice the difference. Heating takes slightly longer with the larger filling.
Technically, it is simple — set the temperature, allow it to heat up and inhale. The effort lies in the surrounding setup: obtaining a Bong, choosing a Bowl and finding the right draw technique and load size. Anyone familiar only with portable vaporisers will need a few sessions before everything works together smoothly.
