CrossingTech Ruby Twist Injector
CrossingTech Ruby Twist Injector is a ball vape. VapoChecker compares current offers from €178.57 (plus shipping) across 4 shops (as of Oct 15, 2026).Price basis: Item price excluding shipping and coupons
Pros
- Roughly 230 gem-cut rubies in a titanium housing — plenty of stored heat at low weight
- Vortex airflow beneath the ruby core spreads the heat, so stirring is rarely needed
- 150 W into the 20 mm heater coil — up to temperature in under 45 seconds
- Micro PID with digital display, adjustable per degree, with auto-shutoff
- The cheapest way into CrossingTech ruby ball vapes (MSRP 200 US dollars)
Cons
- Mains-powered only, no battery — a desktop unit, not something to carry
- A water pipe or rig is mandatory; the device has no mouthpiece of its own
- No conversion kit like the Pro — switching to a classic ball vape head is not intended
- The controller reads up to 532 °C while the usable band is 270–330 °C — without that context you are guessing

About this vaporizer
CrossingTech Ruby Twist Injector, commonly known as the Ruby Twist, is a mains-powered ball vape for dry herbs. The heating element sits as an injector from above into the bowl; a titanium chamber full of rubies stores the heat and transfers it to the air on the draw. A PID controller maintains the temperature — the manufacturer states 270 to 330 °C. The device is ready after approximately 45 seconds and is used with a water pipe fitted with a 14 or 18 mm joint.
Compatible Accessories
The CrossingTech Ruby Twist Injector – usually known simply as the Ruby Twist commercially – is the first generation of the Ruby Twist range: a mains-powered desktop ball vape without a battery. Its heating core is packed with ruby balls that store heat and transfer it to the air flowing through them during a draw – while the heating head sits in the bowl from above as an injector. A PID controller on the base maintains the temperature, and the device is ready for use in approximately 45 seconds. It is used with a water pipe featuring a 14 or 18 mm joint; the manufacturer's kit can be used to upgrade it to the Ruby Twist Pro. Current prices in the Ruby Twist Injector price comparison.

Ruby Twist or Ruby Twist Injector — one device, two names
Both names refer to the same device. CrossingTech sells it as the Ruby Twist Injector Ball Vape Kit; commercially and in the community, it is usually called simply the Ruby Twist. Anyone searching for the shortened name is looking for this vaporizer — there is no separate third model bearing this name.
The range consists of three tiers. It began with the Thermal Twist Injector, which has a solid metal core and no balls. This evolved into the Ruby Twist: the same base and the same controller, but with the core removed and the space filled with cut rubies. Above it sits the Ruby Twist Pro, which refills the chamber with smaller balls and makes the Twist element removable. Anyone looking for the difference between the “Ruby Twist" and the “Ruby Twist Pro" is therefore comparing this page with the Pro page.
How the injector works
The Ruby Twist Injector uses an injector design: the heating head is placed into the bowl from above, forcing the hot airflow through the material. The material itself is not heated directly; instead, a chamber full of ruby balls is heated, and the incoming air passes around them.
Because the balls store heat, more energy is available during a draw than with an exposed heating coil. Vapor is produced on demand — there is no session with a fixed endpoint, only as much vapor as is requested at that moment. The device has no battery and runs from a mains power supply.
Ruby instead of a solid metal core
The design is derived from the Thermal Twist. Its solid metal core with a spiral twist was removed and the space filled with cut rubies. The result is a larger surface area from which the air can absorb heat and a greater heat reserve for long draws.
Within the airpath, the vapor comes into contact only with titanium, glass and ruby. All three are chemically inert at these temperatures and impart no flavor of their own — which is why ball vapes are regarded as a benchmark for flavor.
PID control and operation
A PID controller measures the actual temperature, compares it with the setpoint and continuously adjusts the heating power. Once set, no further adjustments are needed during the session. The manufacturer specifies a range of 270 to 330 degrees Celsius for the device. The controller's scale extends considerably further — this is the controller's display range, not an approved operating range for the device. In any case, it refers to the temperature at the coil, not the vapor temperature: the vapor feels noticeably cooler at the mouth, particularly as it also passes through water.
It takes approximately 45 seconds for the device to be ready for use. It is operated using the controller on the base; the heating head itself contains no electronics.
Differences from the Pro and what else is required
The Ruby Twist Pro uses smaller ruby balls, which improves airflow through the chamber. The Pro also adds a handmade wooden handle, a thicker heat shield and a revised Titanium Matrix Injector. Anyone who already owns the Injector does not need to buy a whole new device: the upgrade kit to the Pro swaps out the ruby fill for the Pro's 2.5 mm ruby balls (255 pieces) and includes two stainless steel screens. The wooden handle, thicker heat shield, and the redesigned Titan Matrix Injector are not included.
Operation requires a water pipe with a 14 or 18 mm joint, which is not included. A bowl for the material is also required — CrossingTech offers an Original Glass Bowl, a Microdose Bowl for small portions and a Titanium Matrix Bowl. The heating head and bowl become extremely hot during operation and remain exposed; in households with children or pets, the device must not be left unattended on a table.
What is included in the kit
The manufacturer supplies the device as a complete set. It includes the Injector with its ruby filling inside the titanium chamber, the Micro PID controller with power cable, a 20 mm heating coil with a pre-fitted silicone handle and the heat shield. It also comes with a 14.4 to 18.8 millimeter adapter, a Keck clip, a steel stand, a scoop and tamper, a cleaning brush, replacement screens and the instructions.
The included bowl is a 14 mm glass bowl with a side carb hole that holds approximately 0.4 grams. This is the standard portion size — the frequently sought-after Microdose Bowl for small quantities is NOT included and is instead sold separately, as is the Titanium Matrix Bowl. The water pipe is also not included: the device cannot be used without it.
What users report on Reddit
These points come from Reddit discussions (r/vaporents, r/ballvapes, r/RubyTwist), reviewed in September 2026. They represent the experiences of individual users, not our own measurements.
- Value for money is the most frequently mentioned advantage, along with use with a Microdose Bowl.
- According to the most-read thread, “no clouds" are almost always caused by too low a temperature or too short a heat-up time. Typical temperatures are 271–316 °C (520–600 °F); users report combustion from approximately 310 °C (590 °F).
- Airflow becomes restricted with large loads. Removing the insert and adding more rubies (“Untwist") allows air to flow through the device more easily.
- The supplied PID controller is considered basic; there are isolated reports of faults, clogged screens and broken glass bowls.

The Pro has smaller ruby balls for improved airflow, a wooden handle, a thicker heat shield and a revised Titanium Matrix Injector. The basic principle is the same.
Yes, CrossingTech offers an upgrade kit for this purpose. There is no need to buy a completely new device.
No. It is a standalone ball vape with its own bowl and heating head. It has nothing to do with DynaVap tips or induction heaters.
Yes. The device has no mouthpiece of its own; the vapor always passes through a water pipe with a 14 or 18 mm joint. It is not included.
Both; the bowl is the deciding factor. Glass and Microdose Bowls are available for herbs, while suitable inserts from the CrossingTech accessory range are available for concentrates.
Approximately 45 seconds. The PID controller then maintains the set temperature.
Both. The manufacturer sells it as the Ruby Twist Injector, while commercially and on forums it is usually called simply the Ruby Twist. There is no separate device named “Ruby Twist" — the name always refers to this one. The Ruby Twist Pro, by contrast, is a separate, newer model.
No. The included bowl is a 14 mm glass bowl with a carb hole that holds approximately 0.4 grams. The Microdose Bowl for small portions and the Titanium Matrix Bowl are separate accessories.
The manufacturer does not specify a number, stating only that the chamber is full of cut rubies. Specialist retailers report approximately 230 stones measuring 3 millimeters. By contrast, the figure for the Pro is confirmed by the manufacturer: 155 balls measuring 2.5 millimeters, or 255 with the included Conversion Kit.
