Terp Chasers Club sells the Universal Baller as a 4-in-1 device. The four operating modes result from two choices:

In cordless mode, the head heats up in the docking station; you then remove it and inhale using the stored heat. In wired mode, the coil remains on the head and the controller continues heating during the session. Because manufacturing tolerances vary for the quartz components, the manufacturer specifies the temperatures as a guideline range; each device may differ slightly.

With the quartz insert and the quartz disc above it, the air only touches glass and quartz on its way to the herb. Terp Chasers Club has filed a patent application for this air path. If you remove the insert, the Universal Baller becomes a titanium ball vape with a full ruby chamber.

According to the manufacturer, 500 of the 1,000 rubies are sufficient in cordless quartz mode. If the quartz breaks, the device remains usable in metal mode. Terp Chasers Club has switched the outer housing in current production to 444 stainless steel; it now has only one set of threads and is secured with a retaining ring.

For wired operation, the manufacturer recommends a heat soak of 15 to 45 seconds, particularly at low temperatures. Heating the entire head through from cold takes longer: tests measure around eight minutes when wired and ten minutes when cordless. You can see whether the rubies are hot through the glass at the top of the device – they become darker.

During assembly, Terp Chasers Club explicitly warns against screwing the housing together with force or gripping it by the threads. Damage caused by force is not covered by the warranty. After use, you should loosen the housing by a quarter turn with pliers before it cools down.

Terp Chasers Club provides a two-year warranty on the PID controller and coil. Glass and quartz components are excluded if they break. The Universal Baller is a desktop device: it requires a mains socket, controller, docking station and a water pipe with an 18- or 14-mm joint.

Compared with the less expensive ball vapes from Crossing Tech, such as the Ruby Twist Pro or the WOHW V2, it offers a considerably larger coil, more rubies and is the only one to include both operating modes. In return, it costs around twice as much.
