Norddampf Relict

The Relict uses a hybrid heating approach. The stainless steel chamber is heated from the outside (conduction), while hot air flows through your material simultaneously (convection). This dual method ensures even extraction and consistent flavour throughout the session.

Stainless steel does not affect taste, lasts for years, and a quick wipe with an isopropyl alcohol swab brings the chamber back to new. No ceramic coating to chip, no residue that is hard to reach.

Draw technique matters here. Slow, steady pulls produce the best vapour. At lower temperature presets, flavour takes centre stage. At higher settings, cloud density increases. The compact chamber size keeps material use efficient.

Rather than a stepless dial, Norddampf opted for five fixed temperature presets. This keeps operation simple: power on, pick a level, start your session.

• Level 1 (170 °C): Light, flavourful vapour. Great for tasting terpene profiles.
• Level 2 (182 °C): Slightly more volume, terpenes still dominate.
• Level 3 (193 °C): Balanced mix of flavour and cloud density.
• Level 4 (204 °C): Dense vapour, stronger extraction.
• Level 5 (220 °C): Maximum extraction, thickest clouds.

Heat-up takes roughly 25-30 seconds. The device vibrates when it hits the target temperature -- you feel it in your hand. Most users start at level 2-3 and work their way up to 4-5.

A genuine standout feature: the Relict accepts Storz & Bickel dosing capsules without any modification. The same capsules that fit the Mighty, Crafty and Volcano Hybrid slide right into the Relict chamber.

Dosing capsules keep the chamber clean, speed up reloading and let you prepare multiple portions ahead of time. Open the chamber, drop in a capsule, close it -- done. The capsule caddy holds 8 capsules and fits in any pocket.

If you already own S&B accessories, there is nothing extra to buy. A 40-pack of dosing capsules runs about 25-30 euros and lasts a long time with normal use.

At 145 grams, the Relict is one of the lightest vaporizers with a swappable battery. The Crafty+ weighs 135 g but has a fixed battery. The XMAX V3 Pro comes in at 120 g with an 18650 cell but lacks dosing capsule support.

The design is understated. Available in Black and Silver, the Relict looks more like a tech gadget than a vaporizer. It slips into a trouser pocket without attracting attention.

Norddampf develops and tests in Germany. Build quality is solid: no sharp edges, consistent gaps, and a sturdy feel in the hand. The mouthpiece sits tight, the battery cover clicks securely, and the buttons have a well-defined click.

An optional water pipe adapter (WPA) lets you connect the Relict to any bong or bubbler with a 14 mm or 18 mm joint. Running the vapour through water cools and moisturises it, which makes a noticeable difference at the higher temperature settings (levels 4-5).

Other available accessories include spare mouthpieces, extra dosing capsules and cleaning supplies. You can also pick up 18650 batteries in different capacities: from 2600 mAh up to 3500 mAh cells.

For cleaning, grab some isopropyl alcohol (90%+), cotton swabs and a small brush. The chamber should be cleaned every 5-10 sessions. Using dosing capsules significantly extends the time between cleanings.
