Wolkenkraft FX Mini

The FX Mini is Wolkenkrafts most compact and most affordable convection portable. It focuses on the essentials: pure hot-air convection, a clear OLED display with degree-precise temperature control and an extendable glass mouthpiece - with no app, no premium extras and no water filter adapter.

Technically, the FX Mini works with a ceramic chamber beneath which the heating element sits. The hot air flows evenly through hundreds of small holes through the herb and vaporizes the active compounds without directly touching the material. With a 1,600-mAh battery, a heat-up time of under 30 seconds and a very compact housing, the FX Mini is clearly aimed at price-conscious beginners looking for an uncomplicated, good-tasting device for use on the go.

On the FX Mini, you control the temperature degree-precisely from 160 to 221 °C in 1-degree steps via the OLED display:

• 160–180 °C - mild, aromatic draws with thin, flavour-focused vapour
• 185–205 °C - balanced everyday range combining flavour and vapour quantity
• 205–221 °C - dense, strong vapour with maximum active-compound release

Anyone wanting a lower starting value for very mild sessions will find it with the FX Mini Ultra (from 100 °C). For most uses, however, the FX Minis range covers everything you need.

The FX Mini is controlled via a large, clearly readable OLED display directly on the device - completely without an app or Bluetooth. The display shows the exact target and current temperature as well as the precise battery level; after switching on, the temperature display quickly counts upwards.

App-free operation is a plus point, especially in this price class: no pairing, no smartphone dependence, no app that might eventually stop being maintained. Switch on, choose temperature, vape. That makes the FX Mini robust and ready to use straight away.

One feature of the FX Mini is its extendable mouthpiece made from Pyrex glass. Glass is taste-neutral and does not react with the hot vapour, so no unwanted flavours arise - a clear advantage over devices that route the vapour through heated plastic parts.

The extendable design also lengthens the path the vapour travels, cooling it slightly on the way to the mouth. In combination with the pure convection, this produces a clear, clean flavour. Since glass is breakable, the mouthpiece should be handled carefully and pushed in for transport.

The FX Mini contains a fixed 1,600-mAh battery. For such a compact device, this is a solid value that is enough for several sessions; higher temperatures draw more heavily on the battery, as expected.

Charging is via USB-C, and pass-through charging is possible: you can also use the FX Mini while it is connected to the cable. The battery cannot be replaced, which is common in this class. Alternatively, you can simply fill the chamber directly with ground herb - this works just as well and often delivers a little more vapour.

1. Switch on: hold down the power button until the OLED display lights up.
2. Fill the chamber: remove the glass mouthpiece and place medium-fine ground herb loosely into the chamber, or insert a prepared Dosing Cap.
3. Choose temperature: set degree-precisely between 160 and 221 °C.
4. Heat up: the target temperature is reached after under 30 seconds; the display shows it.
5. Draw: inhale slowly and evenly for about 10 to 15 seconds.

To switch off, hold the power button down again. There are no more steps - no pairing, no app, no menu jungle.

• Grind: medium-fine and even - with convection, more surface area produces denser vapour.
• Fill quantity: fill the small chamber loosely but completely; pressing too firmly restricts the airflow through the fine holes.
• Temperature ramp: start flavour-focused at 170–180 °C, then increase in stages up to 221 °C.
• Draw technique: draw slowly and evenly so the hot air can penetrate the material.
• Keep the glass mouthpiece clean: clean glass tastes noticeably better than resinous glass.

Because the chamber is small, a finer grind and a deliberate temperature ramp are especially worthwhile for getting plenty of aroma from a small amount of material.

At around 136 grams, the FX Mini is one of the lightest devices in the Wolkenkraft range and fits effortlessly into any pocket. The housing is solidly made for the price class, and the OLED display is easy to read. The only sensitive component is the Pyrex glass mouthpiece, which should be handled carefully.

Wolkenkraft provides a 2-year warranty against manufacturing defects in the electronics and battery. Wear parts such as the mouthpiece, seals and Dosing Caps are excluded.
