The FX Mini Ultra heats using 100 % convection: a heating element warms the air, and only this hot air flows through the herb to vaporise the active ingredients. The material sits in a titanium chamber and does not come into contact with a glowing heating element.

Titanium is robust, flavour-neutral and transfers heat efficiently. Unlike the FX Mini, the Ultra includes two Dosing Caps and a capsule container. You can fill the dosing capsules in advance and insert them for quick changes while out and about – this keeps the chamber clean and makes the Ultra the most convenient Dosing Cap device in the FX Mini range.

For concentrates such as oils or wax, a separately available stainless-steel capsule for extracts is also available: remove the cap, fill it, replace the cap and place the capsule in the cleaned chamber. 1. Switch on: Hold down the power button until the OLED display lights up.
2. Fill the chamber: Remove the magnetic mouthpiece and add medium-finely ground herb to the titanium chamber or insert a prepared Dosing Cap.
3. Select the temperature: Set the precise temperature between 100 and 220 °C; optionally select the session timer (3–5 min).
4. Heat up: After around 25 seconds, the device vibrates to indicate that the target temperature has been reached.
5. Draw: Inhale slowly and evenly for around 10 to 15 seconds.

Once the session timer has elapsed, the Ultra switches off automatically. To switch it off manually, hold down the power button again.

• Grind: medium-fine and even – with convection, more surface area produces denser vapour.
• Fill level: fill the small chamber loosely but completely; packing it too tightly restricts airflow.
• Start low: use the 100 °C floor and begin at a flavour-focused 170–180 °C, then increase the temperature in stages.
• Dosing Caps: fill the capsule evenly without overpacking it.
• Keep it clean: clean the titanium chamber and mouthpiece regularly – clean components deliver noticeably better flavour.

As the chamber is small, a finer grind and a considered temperature ramp are particularly worthwhile to extract plenty of flavour from a small amount of material.

The central question within the range: standard FX Mini or FX Mini Ultra? Both are compact convection devices with a 1,600 mAh battery, USB-C and OLED display. However, the Ultra offers improvements in several areas:

• After every session: brush out the chamber while the device is still slightly warm – residue is easier to remove at this point.
• Regularly: remove the magnetic mouthpiece and soak it in isopropyl alcohol for a few minutes, then rinse with water and allow it to dry completely.
