Wolkenkraft ÄRiS Ultra review: convection with titanium chamber from 93 EUR
- Price: from 93 EUR · RRP 199 EUR
- Heating type: Pure convection with titanium chamber
- Heat-up time: 25 seconds (measured: 33 s to 210 °C)
- Battery: 2600 mAh · 8 sessions · USB-C (10 W)
- Temperature: 100–220 °C continuously adjustable
- Special feature: Glass mouthpiece, dosing capsules included, removable air intake
The ÄRiS Ultra is the middle child of the Wolkenkraft range. Positioned between the entry-level ÄRiS (from 79 EUR) and the flagship device LIVE (from 237 EUR), it presents itself as an all-rounder with a titanium chamber previously reserved for the LIVE. A pure convection vaporizer with titanium for under 200 EUR? You do not get that elsewhere.
After several weeks of daily use, one thing is clear: heat-up time, vapor quality, battery life, cleaning — the Ultra has strengths and clear weaknesses. Here are the details.
- Titanium chamber from the LIVE, which costs 237 EUR+ here for only 93 EUR
- Best cleaning in the test: complete air path can be dismantled, no hidden dirt
- Pure convection flavour with cool vapor thanks to the glass mouthpiece
- Weaknesses: small 0.06-g chamber, no replaceable battery, session mode only

What is in the box?
9 accessories including a dosing capsule magazine and a magnetically built-in cleaning tool — in this price range under 200 EUR, that is more than most competitors offer.

Alongside the device itself, you will find:
- Glass mouthpiece with cooling unit
- Dosing capsule magazine with two capsules
- Cleaning brush (branded) and tweezers
- Replacement screen for the cooling unit
- Alcohol cleaning wipes
- USB-C charging cable
- Mouthpiece cover for travelling
- Cleaning tool (magnetically built into the device)
The integrated tool stands out in particular. It sits magnetically in the underside of the device and can be pulled out at any time. Handy for stirring the chamber or dismantling the air intake during cleaning. No loose accessory that you can lose.
The soft-touch surface immediately feels premium. The ÄRiS Ultra sits securely in the hand and is so compact that it almost disappears in it. Two colours are available: Night Blue and Gun Metal.
What makes the titanium chamber special?
The titanium chamber is the ÄRiS Ultra’s unique selling point — it comes from the Wolkenkraft LIVE, which costs 237 EUR and is three times as expensive. With the Ultra, you get the same technology for less than half that. Titanium conducts heat more evenly than ceramic or stainless steel, which has a direct effect on vapor quality.
But does titanium really make a difference you can taste? Yes — more even heat distribution and higher efficiency. In the test, the ABV (Already Been Vaped) was consistently an even brown — no dark spots, no untouched material at the edge. We have rarely seen that level of consistency from ceramic chambers in this price range.
The chamber size is around 0.06 g. That is not much. Anyone who prefers larger amounts per session will need to reload. That said, the included dosing capsules put this into perspective: pre-fill two capsules, place them in the capsule magazine, and you have enough for four sessions with you. The magazine has a seal, so nothing smells.
The capsules have a screw thread for closing them — another feature borrowed from the LIVE. No slipping, no rattling. They can be inserted without orientation: there is no wrong way round.
How good is the vapor quality?
Noticeably cooler vapor than the Arizer Solo 3 at 210 °C — and that without a separate cooling module like the Mighty+ or VENTY. Surprisingly good for a pure convection vaporizer under 200 EUR.

The device is a pure convection vaporizer. The air is heated, not the material directly. In practice, that means the first draw produces little vapor. The herbs first have to warm through. From the second or third draw onwards, the vapor production becomes noticeably denser.
At 210 °C, the vapor production is good for a pure convection portable in this price range. Not at the level of a VENTY or Tinymight 2 — but they also cost almost twice as much. In terms of flavour, the device clearly scores points: convection delivers purer flavour than hybrid or conduction devices because the material does not scorch against hot walls.
The airflow is solid. Comparable to the LIVE, better than the Solo 3, but not quite as open as the VENTY. If you want to expose the air intake channel (pull the tool out from the bottom), you get slightly more airflow. The difference is minimal, though.
Operation: three buttons are all you need
Three buttons, stepless temperature adjustment in 1-°C increments and adjustable session length — the ÄRiS Ultra can be operated in under 10 seconds. Precise degree-by-degree control is not a given in the under-200-EUR price bracket.

There are three buttons on the front: one large main button and two smaller ones. Operation is self-explanatory:
- Switch on: press the large button 5× — the device starts heating immediately
- Temperature: adjust in 1-°C steps using the small buttons (100–220 °C)
- Session duration: hold down the large button, then adjust in 10-second increments using the small buttons
- Switch off: press the large button 5× or wait until the session ends
The standard session duration is 4 minutes. In the test, we increased it to 6 minutes — that lets you get everything out of the chamber.
The display on the top shows temperature, session length and battery level. Easy to read in normal lighting. Vibration feedback tells you when the target temperature has been reached. Helpful when the device is in your pocket.
Is 2,600 mAh enough for a full day?
In the test, the 2600-mAh battery lasted for 8 sessions. That is decent for a convection vaporizer of this size. For comparison: the ÄRiS (without Ultra) only has 2300 mAh and manages around 6 sessions.
| Model | Battery | Sessions | Charging time |
|---|---|---|---|
| ÄRiS Ultra | 2600 mAh | ~8 | 80 min (10 W) |
| ÄRiS | 2300 mAh | ~6 | ~100 min (7.5 W) |

The charging time of 80 minutes (USB-C, 10 W) is no record. That is 10 minutes of charging time per session — acceptable, but not true fast charging. The ÄRiS (without Ultra) charges at only 7.5 W, so the Ultra is at least 33% faster. Pass-through charging is supported: you can vape while the device is plugged in.
And the catch? No replaceable battery. On a device under 200 EUR, that would have been nice to have. For travelling, the dosing capsules partly solve the problem — you save time when filling, so the battery is used more efficiently.
How quickly does the ÄRiS Ultra heat up?
33 seconds to 210 °C — that is what we measured ourselves. Wolkenkraft quotes 25 seconds, which is accurate at lower temperatures. For a session convection vaporizer, that is quick.
- 180 °C: 26 seconds
- 200 °C: ~30 seconds
- 210 °C: 33 seconds

The Solo 3 takes around 25 seconds, the VENTY 20 seconds — although those are also more expensive devices. On-demand vaporizers like the Tinymight 2 (3 seconds) are in a different league, but they also cost from 299 EUR upwards. Is it a problem in daily use? Hardly. 30 seconds pass faster than filling the grinder.
Why is the cleaning so good?
Completely removable air path — no other portable vaporizer under 200 EUR offers that. Glass tube, cooling unit screen, air intake channel with spiral — everything comes out and can be soaked in isopropanol. With most competitors (Mighty+, VENTY), you cannot access the air intake channel at all.
What you need to clean — and how:
- Glass tube: pull it out, soak it in isopropanol, rinse it, done
- Cooling unit screen: remove it, place it in isopropanol, rinse
- Air intake channel: use the integrated tool to open the channel from below (push past a slight resistance, then the spiral with screen pops out). Completely removable and washable
- Chamber: brush it out while still warm — prevents build-up
In a comparison test of five portable vaporizers under 250 EUR, the Wolkenkraft ÄRiS Ultra was the only device whose complete air path could be dismantled and washed in isopropanol. On devices like the Mighty+ or VENTY, the air intake channel remains closed and collects residue over months. The ÄRiS Ultra has a clear advantage here.
Tip: get a second mouthpiece. Then you can keep vaping while the first one dries. It is best not to soak the rubber ring of the cooling unit in isopropanol for too long — a quick wipe with a damp brush is enough. Afterwards, rinse everything with clean water.
Where does the ÄRiS Ultra sit in the Wolkenkraft line-up?
Wolkenkraft has seven models in its range. In price terms, the ÄRiS Ultra sits exactly in the middle — as the only device below the LIVE with a titanium chamber:
| Model | Starting price | Heating type | Battery | Special feature |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Vita | 49 EUR | Conduction | 1600 mAh | Entry-level |
| FX Mini | 74 EUR | Convection | 1600 mAh | Compact |
| ÄRiS | 79 EUR | Convection | 2300 mAh | Predecessor |
| FX Mini Ultra | 68 EUR | Convection | 1600 mAh | FX Mini upgrade |
| FX Plus | 68 EUR | Hybride | 2200 mAh | Only hybrid |
| ÄRiS Ultra | 93 EUR | Convection | 2600 mAh | Titanium chamber |
| LIVE | 237 EUR | Convection | 3000 mAh | Flagship device |
The ÄRiS Ultra is the direct successor to the ÄRiS. New features include: titanium chamber (instead of ceramic), soft-touch surface, larger battery (2600 vs. 2300 mAh), faster charging (10 W vs. 7.5 W) and the improved cooling unit. In price terms, it is only around 30 EUR above its predecessor — the titanium chamber alone makes the extra cost worthwhile.
Who is the ÄRiS Ultra suitable for?
The ÄRiS Ultra mainly appeals to flavour fans who want pure convection vapor under 200 EUR and value easy cleaning. On-demand users and cloud chasers will be happier elsewhere.
It suits you if:
- You are looking for pure convection flavour under 200 EUR
- Easy cleaning matters to you (fully removable)
- You want to use dosing capsules (magazine included)
- You need a compact device for travelling
- Flavour matters more to you than maximum vapor production
Probably not if:
- You need large chambers (0.06 g is not much)
- You prefer on-demand vaping (session mode only)
- You are looking for maximum vapor density (hybrid vapes deliver more here)
- You want a replaceable battery
How does the ÄRiS Ultra compare with the competition?
Under 200 EUR, there are three relevant alternatives: the Arizer Solo 3 (hybrid, large battery), the XMAX V3 Pro (affordable, replaceable battery) and the Fenix Pro (convection, similar price). Here is how the ÄRiS Ultra performs:
| Feature | ÄRiS Ultra | Arizer Solo 3 | XMAX V3 Pro |
|---|---|---|---|
| Price (from) | 93 EUR | ~170 EUR | 56 EUR |
| Heating type | Convection | Hybrid | Hybride |
| Chamber material | Titanium | Ceramic | Ceramic |
| Heat-up time | 25 s | 25 s | 15 s |
| Battery | 2600 mAh | 3,500 mAh | 2600 mAh (18650) |
| Mouthpiece | Glass (internal) | Glass (external, long) | Glass |
| Dosing capsules | Oui | No | No |
| Cleaning | Completely removable | Good | Average |
| Replaceable battery | No | No | Yes |
The Solo 3 has the larger battery and a faster heat-up time, but its long glass mouthpiece sticks out from the top — less pocket-friendly. The XMAX V3 Pro is cheaper and has a replaceable battery, but comes without a titanium chamber and with a smaller battery. The Ultra sits in between: more compact than the Solo 3, more premium than the V3 Pro.

Conclusion: is the Wolkenkraft ÄRiS Ultra worth it?
From 93 EUR, the ÄRiS Ultra gives you a titanium chamber that other manufacturers only start fitting from 300 EUR upwards. On top of that, it offers the best cleaning solution in the test, dosing capsules included, and pure convection flavour through a glass mouthpiece. For the under-200-EUR price class, that is a strong package.
The weak points: at 0.06 g, the chamber is small. 80 minutes of charging time is not fast charging. No replaceable battery, no on-demand mode. Anyone looking for maximum vapor clouds will be better served by hybrid vaporizers.
The overall package is still convincing: titanium chamber from the LIVE, exemplary cleaning, solid vapor quality. Under 200 EUR, there is currently no convection vaporizer with a better cleaning solution.

Frequently asked questions
Is the Wolkenkraft ÄRiS Ultra worth it?
From 159 EUR, the ÄRiS Ultra offers a titanium chamber that is otherwise only found in devices from 300 EUR upwards. On top of that, there are dosing capsules, a glass mouthpiece and the best cleaning solution among portable vaporizers. For pure convection flavour under 200 EUR, it is currently one of the best options.
How does the ÄRiS Ultra compare with the Arizer Solo 3?
The Solo 3 has the larger 3,500-mAh battery and heats up 5 seconds faster, but its glass mouthpiece sticks out from the top. The ÄRiS Ultra is more compact, has a titanium chamber instead of ceramic and costs around 10 EUR less. For travelling, the Ultra is the better choice.
Does the ÄRiS Ultra fit on a bong?
Yes, a 14-mm glass adapter is included and fits directly into bongs and bubblers. The magnetic system keeps the connection sealed. With a small recycler, the convection vapor stays pleasantly cool at 205 °C and above.
What temperature is optimal on the ÄRiS Ultra?
For flavour, 180 to 190 °C with slow draws is enough. For denser clouds, go to 200 to 215 °C and stir the material with the integrated tool before the last draw. The continuously adjustable 1-°C increments allow precise fine-tuning.
What is new on the ÄRiS Ultra compared with the ÄRiS?
Titanium chamber instead of ceramic, larger battery (2,600 vs. 2,300 mAh), faster charging (10 W instead of 7.5 W), soft-touch surface and improved cooling unit. The extra cost of around 30 EUR is worth it for the titanium chamber alone.
