Troubleshooting & Error Messages
Short answer: According to the user manual (as of 06-2025), the VENTY has five error codes and the display message "bl." They appear on the display as E01 through E05; the manual writes them as ERR 001 through ERR 005. E01 and E02 report a device temperature that is too high or too low, E03 an unsuitable charger or cable, E04 a defect, E05 that someone blew into the vaporizer. For E04: turn the device off immediately, unplug it, and contact service. Our own VENTY showed E04 twice and a replacement unit showed E03 with no cable connected - Storz & Bickel replaced all three devices under warranty.

The Storz & Bickel help center lists the same codes in a shared table for the MIGHTY+ and VENTY, written there as "ERR 001 / e01." The manual specifies an allowable operating temperature of 41 to 95 °F (5 to 35 °C).
E04: Two Warranty Cases on Our Device
Our VENTY showed E04 in September 2024 and again in February 2026. The first time, it would not turn on at all afterward. Both times, Storz & Bickel replaced the unit under warranty. You should not attempt any self-repair with this code: the manual instructs you to turn the device off immediately and contact service.
Reading the Extended Error Code
For the repair request, Storz & Bickel's technical service asked us for the extended error code and explained how to retrieve it: while E04 is displayed, press the plus button. A three-digit number code will then appear. Holding the plus button pressed lets you scroll through the device's error history. Write this code directly into the repair request - it saves a follow-up question. This function is not described in the user manual.
E03 With No Cable Connected
The manual and help center explain E03 as an unsuitable charger or cable. Our replacement unit showed the code in May 2026 after fewer than ten hours of use, even though no cable was connected. A reset - holding the power button for ten seconds - changed nothing; according to the manual, it only resets the base and booster temperature anyway. Service told us that E03 in this case did not mean an unsuitable charger had been used, and they required a standard repair request. This unit was replaced as well. Our current device shows E03 occasionally.
If E03 appears while charging, first try a different cable and a charger with USB-C Power Delivery. The manual recommends at least 5 V / 2 A for charging and at least 9 V / 3 A (27 W) for fast charging. If the VENTY shows E03 with no cable connected and the code persists, that was, in our experience, a case for service - not for a new power adapter.
How the Warranty Replacement Process Works
An email to support does not start a repair. Storz & Bickel requires three steps on their own website: create a customer account, register the device with your receipt, then initiate the repair request (RMA) in your account. Without a receipt, a photo of the serial number on the type label or packaging is sufficient; the date of manufacture then counts as the start of the warranty period. After confirmation, a shipping document and UPS return label arrive by email. Only the device itself is sent in - without the cooling unit, cable, or power adapter; Storz & Bickel disposes of any accessories that are included and the original box for hygiene reasons. Anyone who registers the VENTY within four weeks of purchase receives an additional third year on top of the standard two-year warranty.
