Its greatest strength is the exceptionally free draw combined with stable heating performance. The clear disadvantages are its 252 g weight, premium price, non-replaceable batteries and lack of pass-through operation. VapoChecker rates the overall package 8.9 out of 10; this is an editorial source assessment, not a claimed in-house long-term test.

Review verdict: 8.9 out of 10 – benchmark airflow with clear compromises
The VENTY is one of the most powerful portable session devices when low draw resistance, rapid readiness and reproducible performance matter more than minimal size. The flow meter adjusts the heating output to the negative pressure generated during inhalation; the adjustment wheel continuously limits the airflow up to a maximum of 20 l/min.
The rating is not higher because the 252-g device is large and expensive, users are not permitted to replace the two batteries and charging during operation is expressly excluded. A true on-demand device is more suitable for individual draws from a cold chamber.

How the source check was conducted
Technical values come from the current product page, the manufacturer’s 176-page manual and the support articles on technology, charging and warranty. Practical observations are attributed to tests by Planet of the Vapes, Vaporizer Wizard, 420 VapeZone and Troy and Jerry. Retailer claims are not used as primary evidence.
Where sources differ, the more specific technical documentation takes precedence: the manual states 15.7 × 5.5 × 3.7 cm, while the German shop page shows a width of 4.7 cm. The catalog therefore follows the manual and Technical Overview and documents the discrepancy.
Hybrid heating and dynamic flow meter
STORZ & BICKEL explicitly describes the mini heater as a combination of convection and conduction. Hot air extracts during the draw, while contact heat from the chamber continues to warm the material between draws. The VENTY is therefore a session device rather than a pure convection platform.
The flow meter detects the negative pressure during inhalation and dynamically regulates the heater. This explains why several tests describe stable performance even during powerful draws. Nevertheless, it does not guarantee identical results: load, moisture, grind, airflow and temperature remain relevant.
Airflow: from almost closed to 20 liters per minute
The adjustment wheel on the cooling unit has three clearly recognisable positions, but is continuously adjustable between them. Opening it wide reduces draw resistance and mixes the vapor with more air; narrowing it increases resistance and may subjectively increase density. The manufacturer specifies a maximum of 20 l/min.
The reviews agree unusually clearly on the fundamental finding: the free airflow is the distinguishing feature. “Completely resistance-free” nevertheless remains a subjective description; screens, dosing capsules and contamination alter the actual draw.
40–210 °C, Booster and Superbooster
The base temperature can be set degree by degree from 40 to 210 °C. The VENTY starts at 180 °C by default. A double-click activates the Booster at +15 °C, raising it to 195 °C; another double-click activates the Superbooster with a further +15 °C, up to a maximum of 210 °C. Offsets can be adjusted via the Web App.
A sensible approach is to start lower for flavor and increase the temperature only when needed. A universal “best temperature” would be misleading because the material, load size and desired result vary.
Heat-up time: 20 seconds is a guideline
The product page and Technical Overview state 20 seconds. The manual clarifies that, depending on the battery level, surroundings, device and the quantity and type of material, the process may take at least 17 seconds. The 20-second figure is therefore a typical manufacturer value, not a stopwatch guarantee under all conditions.
The short waiting time is a genuine everyday advantage over older S&B portable devices. However, it does not automatically make the VENTY an on-demand device because the chamber continues to transfer heat after heating up.
Filling chamber: 1.4 cm³ and for dry herbs only
According to the product page, the hard ceramic-coated chamber holds 1.4 cm³. The device is intended for ground plant material or dry herbs; the current product page does not identify it as a concentrate vaporizer. Earlier third-party claims concerning concentrates are therefore not included.
The manual recommends filling the chamber to the rim without compressing the material or overfilling it. Excess particles around the rim should be removed before attaching the cooling unit with a quarter turn.
Dosing capsules: cleaner workflow, slightly more resistance
Original S&B dosing capsules are optionally compatible and are inserted with the cap facing upwards. The manual explicitly warns that they may impair airflow. Vaporizer Wizard likewise observed greater resistance and notes that capsules are not included as standard.
They are particularly worthwhile for pre-prepared portions and a cleaner chamber. Anyone prioritizing the most open draw should compare the difference with a directly filled chamber.
Vapor performance: strong consensus, but no in-house laboratory test
Planet of the Vapes, Vaporizer Wizard, 420 VapeZone and Troy and Jerry describe dense, flavorful vapor with an unusually free draw. This consensus is more robust than a single quotation, but it remains a collection of external experiences rather than a VapoChecker series of measurements.
The hybrid principle produces vapor early in the session and provides ample heating reserve. At the same time, the material continues to warm between draws. Anyone spreading a chamberful over many hours and taking only individual draws will benefit more from true on-demand convection.
Battery: two integrated 18650 cells, but no reliable mAh figure
The manufacturer confirms two 18650-format lithium-ion batteries and maximum power consumption of 130 W. It does not publish an mAh capacity for the VENTY. The former “2 × 3,000 mAh” figure came from an ambiguous review statement and is included neither in the data field nor in the new text.
The manual makes it clear that the batteries cannot be replaced by users. Replacement should be handled by S&B service. Battery life is therefore strong, but long-term battery maintenance is less flexible than with devices using replaceable cells.
Battery life: external tests achieve around 10 to 14 chamberfuls
There is no official sessions-per-charge specification. Planet of the Vapes and 420 VapeZone each document 12 chamberfuls, Vaporizer Wizard averages 10 to 14, and Troy and Jerry reports 10 to 12. This range is plausible across several tests, but must not be interpreted as a guarantee.
Temperature, draw duration, pauses, surroundings and battery age affect the result. The structured “sessions per charge” field therefore remains empty; the measurements appear only with source context in the review.
USB-C Supercharge, ECO mode and no pass-through
According to support information, the VENTY reaches around 80 % in 40 minutes with the official USB-C Supercharger. Less powerful power supplies charge it considerably more slowly. The ECO charging mode in the Web App reduces charging stress in favor of longer battery life.
Pass-through is expressly unsupported: during operation, the device requires more than 100 W, which is more than the charger can supply simultaneously. Charge first, then use it. The VENTY is therefore not a wired replacement for a desktop vaporizer.
Operation without the app, extras with the Web App
Three buttons and the LC display are sufficient for on/off control, temperature and the three temperature levels. Bluetooth and the S&B Web App add features including temperature offsets, display brightness, ECO charging, device data and firmware updates. The core functions remain usable without the app.
This is important for the purchasing decision: the app is an optional configuration tool, not a requirement for a normal session. Browser and device compatibility should be checked before purchase if app functions are essential.
Automatic shut-off and session behavior
The VENTY switches off automatically two minutes after the last use or button press. A short press of the power button resets the timer to two minutes. This logic saves energy, but requires conscious interaction during long pauses.
The device primarily operates as a session vaporizer: heat it up, take several draws and then switch it off. Briefly switching it off and on again cannot immediately remove heat from the material and therefore does not provide a fully fledged on-demand mode.
252 g and a documented dimensional discrepancy
The manual and Technical Overview state 15.7 × 5.5 × 3.7 cm at approximately 252 g. The current German product page differs by showing a width of 4.7 cm. Because two technical manufacturer documents state 5.5 cm, we use that value and openly disclose the discrepancy.
According to several reviews, the narrow body sits comfortably in the hand, but it is large and heavy for tight trouser pockets. A case protects the mouthpiece, cooling unit and display and prevents herb residue or odor from being transported openly.
Materials, air path and certifications
STORZ & BICKEL specifies medical-grade PEEK, a hard ceramic-coated filling chamber and biocompatible components in the air path. The Technical Overview also lists UL 8139 and IEC 60335-1 as safety standards. These specifications concern material and device safety and do not automatically constitute medical approval for the VENTY.
The VENTY should not be equated with the MIGHTY+ MEDIC or VOLCANO MEDIC 2. Anyone requiring an approved medical device must check the specific Medic model and its regional approval.
Cleaning: screens after every use, cooling unit after no more than seven days
The manual recommends brushing out the screens in the filling chamber and cooling unit after every use. The cooling unit should be inspected before every use and cleaned no later than seven days after the last use or whenever deposits are visible.
The actual requirement depends on the material, frequency and temperature. Noticeably tighter airflow is a practical warning sign, but not a reason to ignore visible deposits until that point.
Deep cleaning without material damage
- Completely disassemble the cooling unit according to the manual and set the seals and screens aside separately.
- Clean the parts in warm washing-up water for at least five minutes or soak them in isopropyl alcohol for no more than 30 minutes.
- Rinse all parts under running water for at least one minute.
- Allow them to dry completely and position the seals correctly during reassembly.
Clean the housing only with a dry or damp cloth. Never immerse the device or USB-C cable; do not use overly wet cotton buds on the chamber.
Warranty: two years plus an optional additional year
The standard warranty is two years. Anyone who registers the VENTY within four weeks of purchase receives an additional limited year in many countries. Proof of purchase and a customer account are required.
Country-specific exceptions apply; in several markets, the additional year is unavailable or subject to further conditions. The structured data field therefore conservatively shows two years and explains the possible third year separately.

Box contents and useful accessories
The Technical Overview lists the device, quick-start guide, filling chamber tool, USB-C-to-USB-C cable, two O-rings, several coarse and fine screens, two cooling unit screens and a cleaning brush. The Supercharger, dosing capsules and carrying case are accessories and are not universally included in the standard box.
The Supercharger offers the greatest functional benefit when reaching 80 % in 40 minutes matters. Capsules simplify portioning, but may restrict airflow. Given the device’s size, mouthpiece and cooling unit, a case is more practical than decorative accessories.
Price, alternatives and purchasing decision
At the time of the source check on 28.08.2026, the manufacturer’s price was 448 euros; retailer prices on VapoChecker are updated dynamically. A fixed price in the body text is not a purchasing argument because offers and availability change.

Error Codes E01 to E05: What They Mean and What Helps with E03 and E04
Short answer: According to the user manual (as of 06-2025), the VENTY has five error codes and the display message "bl." They appear on the display as E01 through E05; the manual writes them as ERR 001 through ERR 005. E01 and E02 report a device temperature that is too high or too low, E03 an unsuitable charger or cable, E04 a defect, E05 that someone blew into the vaporizer. For E04: turn the device off immediately, unplug it, and contact service. Our own VENTY showed E04 twice and a replacement unit showed E03 with no cable connected — Storz & Bickel replaced all three devices under warranty.

The Storz & Bickel help center lists the same codes in a shared table for the MIGHTY+ and VENTY, written there as "ERR 001 / e01." The manual specifies an allowable operating temperature of 41 to 95 °F (5 to 35 °C).
E04: Two Warranty Cases on Our Device
Our VENTY showed E04 in September 2024 and again in February 2026. The first time, it would not turn on at all afterward. Both times, Storz & Bickel replaced the unit under warranty. You should not attempt any self-repair with this code: the manual instructs you to turn the device off immediately and contact service.
Reading the Extended Error Code
For the repair request, Storz & Bickel's technical service asked us for the extended error code and explained how to retrieve it: while E04 is displayed, press the plus button. A three-digit number code will then appear. Holding the plus button pressed lets you scroll through the device's error history. Write this code directly into the repair request — it saves a follow-up question. This function is not described in the user manual.
E03 With No Cable Connected
The manual and help center explain E03 as an unsuitable charger or cable. Our replacement unit showed the code in May 2026 after fewer than ten hours of use, even though no cable was connected. A reset — holding the power button for ten seconds — changed nothing; according to the manual, it only resets the base and booster temperature anyway. Service told us that E03 in this case did not mean an unsuitable charger had been used, and they required a standard repair request. This unit was replaced as well. Our current device shows E03 occasionally.
If E03 appears while charging, first try a different cable and a charger with USB-C Power Delivery. The manual recommends at least 5 V / 2 A for charging and at least 9 V / 3 A (27 W) for fast charging. If the VENTY shows E03 with no cable connected and the code persists, that was, in our experience, a case for service — not for a new power adapter.
How the Warranty Replacement Process Works
An email to support does not start a repair. Storz & Bickel requires three steps on their own website: create a customer account, register the device with your receipt, then initiate the repair request (RMA) in your account. Without a receipt, a photo of the serial number on the type label or packaging is sufficient; the date of manufacture then counts as the start of the warranty period. After confirmation, a shipping document and UPS return label arrive by email. Only the device itself is sent in — without the cooling unit, cable, or power adapter; Storz & Bickel disposes of any accessories that are included and the original box for hygiene reasons. Anyone who registers the VENTY within four weeks of purchase receives an additional third year on top of the standard two-year warranty.
