A coil inside generates a high-frequency magnetic field. When you hold a ferromagnetic tip inside it, the field induces eddy currents directly in the metal. The metal heats from the inside out, not from the outside via a flame. As a result, the heat is distributed evenly all around, rather than on one side as with a lighter.

This has two practical effects: the flavour stays clean because no combustion gases reach the herb, and the result is repeatable. With the same wattage and seconds settings, the YLL 3.0 heats identically every time. With a flame, you may hit the point one way or another; with induction, you set it once and get it again and again.

The YLL 3.0 can be adjusted from 30 to 100 Watt in 5-Watt increments, plus the heating time in seconds (up to 60 seconds). Both values are shown on the display. Lower wattage heats more slowly and gently, which is good for flavour-focused draws at a lower temperature. Higher wattage brings the tip up to temperature quickly, ideal for dense vapour in a single draw.

The maximum 100 Watt is the main reason to choose a YLL 3.0 over the smaller YLL 2.0 (60 Watt): larger tips and thicker chambers need more power to heat through quickly. If you use standard DynaVap tips, you will usually be in the middle range; the extra headroom is there for larger tips and fast sessions.

The heating chamber of the YLL 3.0 is depth-adjustable. You remove the battery cover and slide the ceramic insert up or down from below, allowing you to adjust how deeply the tip sits in the coil. The ideal position is where the hot part of the tip sits in the middle of the magnetic field. If it sits too deep or too shallow, it heats unevenly.

For shorter tips or certain tip lengths, there are spacers (such as a 3-mm-spacer) that let you fine-tune the fit. This gives you clean, centred contact with the field even when using non-standard tips. This adjustability sets the YLL 3.0 apart from simple heaters with a fixed chamber depth and makes it compatible with many devices.

The YLL 3.0 runs on two 21700 batteries, which are not included. 21700 cells offer significantly more capacity than the 18650 cells used in many older heaters (and in the YLL 2.0). That means more heating cycles per charge and less frequent swapping.

Charging is done via USB-C directly in the device, or you can charge the cells externally in a separate charger. If you have two sets of batteries, you can simply swap them while out and about and be ready to go again immediately, which is an advantage of the replaceable design compared with built-in batteries.

The YLL 3.0 needs high-drain 21700 cells, because 100 Watt can draw high currents for short periods. Proven options include:

• Molicel P42A (4200 mAh, 45 A) – recommended by the manufacturer, with a good balance of capacity and current handling.
• Samsung 40T (4000 mAh, 35 A) – also widely used and reliable.

Important: use flat or standard positive terminals (Flat Top), not a battery with an added protection circuit that changes its height. Both cells should be the same model, same charge level and same age; mixed batteries put more strain on one cell and shorten its lifespan. Cheap no-name cells without a stated current rating do not belong in a high-power device.

The display shows exactly two values: wattage and seconds, the two parameters you actually set. No overloaded menu, no hidden modes. You choose the power, set the heating time and start the heating process.

The 180° flip is practical: the display can be rotated so you can read it from any angle, whether the YLL is standing on the table or you are holding it in your left or right hand. Especially during one-handed use, this is more comfortable than having to twist your head.

The YLL 3.0 works with virtually any device with a ferromagnetic tip:

• all DynaVap models (M, M+, B-Serie, VonG, Omni)
• MAD Heaters TEMPEST 2 and TEMPEST 1
• Hyperdyn (own brand with 18-mm chamber, one reason for the larger chamber of the 3.0)
• Tornado-Stems and various third-party tips

Devices with ceramic or glass heating elements (such as the Elev8r), as well as purely electronic vaporizers, are not compatible, because induction only works on metal. With some devices such as Dani Vapes BFG or Anvil, the tip may fit mechanically, but barely benefits from the induction principle.

The replaceable glass chamber protects the coil and can easily be replaced if it breaks or gets dirty. As described above, you use the ceramic insert to adjust the depth.

Safety is handled by an automatic shut-off after 60 seconds: if you accidentally leave the device running, it switches itself off before anything overheats. This protects both the tip and the electronics. As with any device using lithium cells: use high-quality batteries, do not store it in a hot car, and discard damaged cells immediately.

There is no temperature display in degrees; you work with wattage and seconds, and the DynaVap click as an indicator. A few guide points:

• Flavour/low: moderate wattage, slightly longer heating time; the herb releases the terpenes first, and the vapour is mild.
• Dense clouds: higher wattage, shorter time to the click; more active compounds in one draw.
• Larger tips/Hyperdyn: higher wattage, because more metal mass needs to be heated.

The practical approach: start with a medium setting, check after the first click, then adjust wattage or seconds by one step. After two or three attempts, you will have found your favourite settings and can call them up again and again.

The YLL 3.0 is the more powerful evolution of the YLL 2.0. The differences:

• Power: 30–100 W (3.0) versus 30–60 W (2.0), for faster heat-through and more reserve.
• Batteries: Dual 21700 (3.0) instead of Dual 18650 (2.0), for more capacity and longer sessions.
• Chamber: larger on the 3.0, making it compatible with Hyperdyn and similarly large devices.

If you only heat standard DynaVap tips and are happy with shorter sessions, the 2.0 is enough. If you use large tips, want dense draws in a single pass or need longer battery life, the 3.0 is the better choice. The upgrade is worthwhile mainly because of the 21700 batteries and the higher maximum power.

Both are induction heaters, but with different philosophies. The Ispire The Wand offers true temperature control in degrees (120–425 °C), runs on 2× 18650 and can also be used as a dab rig for concentrates. The YLL 3.0 instead uses wattage and seconds control, 2× 21700 and pure dry herb induction.

In short: The Wand is more versatile (degree display, concentrate mode), while the YLL 3.0 is more powerful and more flexible in chamber depth, with longer runtime thanks to the larger batteries. If you value a temperature in degrees and a dab function, choose The Wand; if you want maximum power and adjustability for DynaVap tips, choose the YLL 3.0.

The MAD Heaters TEMPEST 2 is a DynaVap-like device with a ferromagnetic tip, and the YLL 3.0 was developed with it in mind. Both come from the MAD Heaters ecosystem (which distributes the YLL), so the combination is deliberately matched.

In practice, this means the TEMPEST-2 tip sits cleanly in the adjustable chamber of the YLL 3.0, and the 100 Watt is easily enough to bring it up to temperature quickly. If you own or are planning to get a TEMPEST 2, the YLL 3.0 is the matching heater, without tinkering with chamber depth or power.

“The best” depends on what you need. The YLL 3.0 scores with maximum power (100 W), large 21700 batteries and an adjustable chamber, making it a strong choice for heavy users and for larger tips such as Hyperdyn. If you want a degree display and dab function, the Ispire The Wand is more likely to suit you. If you prefer something more compact and cheaper, heaters such as the DynaTec Orion V2 or the Cuboo Pro V2 are slimmer alternatives.

The YLL 3.0 is not an entry-level bargain, but a high-performance device. For someone who uses their DynaVap daily, runs several tips and values repeatability, it is one of the best options available.

The box contains the heater itself with glass chamber and USB-C cable. The two 21700 batteries are not included, so you have to buy them separately (see battery recommendation above). Factor in these additional costs when comparing prices.

Useful accessories: an external 21700 charger (protects the USB-C port and allows you to charge a spare set), a second set of batteries for uninterrupted use, and spacers if your tips have a different length. A spare glass chamber is inexpensive and practical in case you need one.

The YLL 3.0 is easy to care for because the herb never lands directly in the device; only the tip goes into the chamber. Over time, however, residue can still build up in the glass chamber. It can be removed and cleaned or replaced if necessary.

You should keep the ceramic insert free of broken pieces so the tip sits cleanly. Wipe the battery contacts dry if needed. Otherwise: store the device dry and away from intense heat, and keep batteries roughly half charged during longer periods of non-use. An induction heater does not need any more maintenance than that.

Two names circulate for the same device, so to clarify: the YLL 3.0 (YLL IH 3.0) is made by YLLVape. MAD Heaters is a British retailer and distribution partner that offers the device in Europe, which is why it sometimes appears as “MAD Heaters YLL 3.0”. It is also sold through DynaVap itself and other specialist retailers.

For you as a buyer, this means it is the same product everywhere. The only differences are price, shipping and warranty handling depending on the shop, which is exactly what you compare above in the price table.

• Tip does not get properly hot: check the chamber depth; is the hot part of the tip centred in the coil? Adjust the ceramic insert or use a spacer if necessary. Increase the wattage for large tips.
• Device switches off: this is usually the 60-second safety shut-off, which is normal. If it switches off immediately, check the battery charge and that the cells are seated correctly.
• Weak performance: often caused by empty or unevenly charged batteries. Use two fully charged cells of the same type.
• Uneven heating: tip too deep or too shallow; adjust the depth.

The YLLVape YLL 3.0 is the right choice if you want to use your DynaVap (or a TEMPEST-/Hyperdyn device) regularly and without a flame, and you value adjustable power, long battery life and repeatable results. The adjustable chamber and the full 100 Watt make it one of the most flexible heaters on the market.

It makes less sense for occasional users who are happy with a simple lighter, or for anyone who needs a degree-based temperature display and dab function; in that case, the Ispire Wand is the better choice. Also factor in the battery cost, as these come separately. If you account for that, you get a durable, powerful heating device.
