Quartz glass balls for the MAD Heaters Tempest 2 — similar to borosilicate but slightly denser with higher thermal conductivity. Density: 2.65 g/cm³, thermal conductivity: 3 W/mK (nearly 3× borosilicate). Heat-up time at 80 W: 30–35 seconds. Quartz offers a clear, clean flavor with slightly more heat retention than borosilicate — a good compromise between purity and performance. Also visually appealing with crystal-clear transparency.

Manufacturer settings by heating cap material

Settings apply from room temperature. With a warm heating cap, reduce the YLL-3.0 timer by 8–12 seconds and maintain the wattage. Wand values control the timer, not the actual temperature. They apply with the V3 adapter until timeout.
