Ball Vape with Gemstone Balls
The Qaroma belongs to the ball vaporizer category. Small ruby or sapphire balls are heated to high temperatures. Air flows through the hot balls and reaches operating temp. Pure convection — material is only touched by hot air. Extremely fast, thorough extraction.
High Temperatures up to 393 C
At 393 C, the Qaroma goes far beyond standard vaporizers. Most users stay between 200-300 C in practice. Higher settings for fast, intense sessions. PID controller keeps temp stable.
Water Pipe Required
Ball vapes produce very hot vapor. Without water filtration it would be too harsh. The Qaroma sits on a bong (18 mm joint recommended). Water cooling makes the vapor smooth even at high temps.
Qaroma vs XL vs Taroma
The Qaroma XL has a larger chamber and more balls for bigger sessions. The Taroma 2.0 uses a different heating concept at 371 C. All three from QaromaShop, all for water pipe use.
Quartz vs Ruby Balls
The Qaroma performs differently depending on whether you fill the bowl with quartz or ruby balls. Quartz balls are the standard option — they heat up quickly and provide solid vapor production at a lower cost. Ruby balls, made from synthetic corundum, have roughly twice the thermal conductivity of quartz, which means they transfer heat to your herb more efficiently. This translates to thicker vapor from the first draw and slightly better flavor retention throughout the session. Ruby balls also hold their temperature more consistently during longer draws. The tradeoff is price: a set of ruby balls costs several times more than quartz.
