The housing of the 360XLS is made of Grade 2 titanium and coated with 99.9-percent food-grade silver. QaromaShop explains that this takes advantage of silver's thermal conductivity, while the titanium is intended to provide durability. The chamber has a diameter of 25 mm and holds more than 320 ruby beads measuring 3 mm.
Silver reacts with sulfur from the air and plant material. As a result, the housing tarnishes over time, ranging from yellowish to dark blue or black. According to the manufacturer, this does not affect functionality, safety, or flavor; the discoloration comes from the silver, not the titanium.
QaromaShop specifies 196 to 241 °C (385–465 °F) for the 360XLS, set on the PID controller. Each range has a corresponding “heat soak” time. This refers to the dwell time during which the housing, placed over the stem, heats the material inside it, not the device's heat-up time: 196–210 °C (385–410 °F) for 60–90 seconds, 210–227 °C (410–440 °F) for 30–60 seconds, and 227–241 °C (440–465 °F) for 15–30 seconds.
After lifting off the housing, your final draw pulls the residual heat out of the stem. QaromaShop strongly recommends an ash catcher with a carb hole or a passthrough bowl so that the chamber can be cleared without lifting off the housing.
Heating is provided by a 150-W heating coil with a diameter of 25 mm connected to the PID controller; the coil has a five-pin XLR connector. According to the manufacturer, modified or incompatible coils should not be used. QaromaShop offers a removable coil (“Detachable Wireless Coil”) as an accessory.
The included glass stem fits 14- and 18-mm joints. According to the instructions, the housing can also be slid over a metal stem; QaromaShop recommends a silver-plated titanium bowl as an accessory.
The DIY kit includes the silver-plated titanium housing, glass stem, a tested 25-mm heating coil rated at 150 W, the PID controller with plug (US, EU, or AU only), a walnut coil handle (Walnut StabWood), a porcelain stand, two packages of 3-mm ruby beads, stainless steel screens, and a stainless steel spoon with a stirring tool.
QaromaShop separately recommends the silver-plated titanium bowl, removable coil, additional glass stems, a small ash catcher with a carb hole, passthrough bowls, and replacement screens. There is no warranty or return policy; shipping damage must be reported with a photo or video within 24 hours of receipt.
