Convection with Stainless Steel
The Shift uses convection heating — hot air, not contact heat. Stainless steel chamber is durable and flavor-neutral. Ready in 25 seconds. Quartz insert included for concentrates.
Precise Temperature Control
LED display shows exact temperature. 1-degree increments from 160 to 221 °C — more precise than most devices in this price range.
Battery & Size
1600 mAh battery, Micro-USB charging in about 2 hours. Compact pocket-friendly size.
Dual-Use Capability
The Pulsar Shift handles both dry herb and concentrates through interchangeable atomizers. The dry herb chamber uses ceramic conduction heating with a 0.25 g capacity oven. For concentrates, a separate quartz bucket atomizer slots into the same body. Switching between the two takes about 10 seconds — unscrew one, screw in the other. This dual-use design is practical for users who want one device for different materials without compromising performance on either. The herb chamber works best with a medium grind packed lightly, while the concentrate bucket handles wax, shatter, and crumble equally well.
Temperature and Controls
The Shift provides four voltage settings indicated by LED colour. For dry herb, the lower two settings (around 3.4–3.6 V) produce the best flavour and avoid combustion risk. The higher settings suit concentrates, where more energy is needed to vaporise material efficiently. Heat-up time is roughly 15 seconds for concentrates and 25–30 seconds for herb. The single-button interface is straightforward: five clicks for on/off, three clicks to cycle through voltage levels. The LED colour tells you which setting is active without needing a screen or app.
Build and Portability
The Shift is compact at around 11 cm tall and weighs approximately 85 grams — small enough for a pocket and light enough to hold comfortably for extended sessions. The outer shell has a rubberised matte finish that provides grip and resists scratches. The magnetic mouthpiece cap keeps the device clean when carried loose in a bag or pocket. Pulsar includes a small carrying pouch, a loading tool, a cleaning brush, and a USB-C cable in the box. The build feels sturdy for the price point, with no rattling or loose components.
Battery and Maintenance
The internal 1000 mAh battery lasts around 8–10 concentrate sessions or 5–6 herb sessions on a single charge. USB-C charging completes in about 90 minutes. After each herb session, empty and brush the chamber while warm. Concentrate sessions require a short burn-off — fire the device for 3 seconds without drawing to clear residual material from the bucket. Weekly, soak the mouthpiece and screens in isopropyl alcohol for 10 minutes. Replacement atomizers for both herb and concentrate are sold separately and should be swapped every 2–3 months with regular use.
