The V2 sits between two generations: the 2016 original arrived as “Puffco+” with a plated brass body and a second chamber in the box. In 2019 the V2 followed with a new body, reworked Dart and LED band. In October 2023 the New Plus replaced it – with a grip ring on the chamber and the colors Onyx and Pearl, but technically on the same level.

The V2 also came as the limited Vision edition in an iridescent finish with two colored grips in the box; Puffco kept it alongside the standard model until 2022. It is not a separate device but a color variant.

Puffco advertised the V2 as “now even more improved”. The body shows it: precision-machined alloy instead of plated brass, plus a coating that resists fingerprints. The Dart got a silicone top – pressing it extends the ceramic tip for scooping concentrate, and according to Greencamp the new shape picks up more material.

Also new were the discreet LED light band that shows battery level and heat cycle and otherwise hides away, and haptic feedback for timing. Chamber, battery capacity and operation stayed the same; Greencamp still measured about 15 percent more runtime than the original.

Five clicks switch the pen on or off, four clicks change the heat setting, two clicks start Sesh Mode with 12 seconds of continuous heating; holding heats manually and shuts off after 8 seconds. The LED shows the three settings as Blue (low), Green (medium) and White (high) – per the manual; Puffco does not publish temperatures.

Puffco recommends small loads of 0.2 to 0.3 g, filling below the air holes and holding the pen upright. The chamber should not be heated empty and not more than four times in a row.

The 520 mAh battery is built in and is unscrewed from the chamber and screwed onto the USB Supercharger for charging. Puffco quotes different charge times: “about 35 minutes” in the spec sheet and “2 hours” on the product page from 2019 to 2022; Greencamp got about 35 minutes. One charge lasts around 15 dabs according to Puffco.

There is no port on the device, neither Micro-USB nor USB-C, so vaping while charging is out. The Supercharger is still sold separately by Puffco – important for second-hand buys without a charger.

Puffco’s warranty covers battery and charger for one year and the chamber for one month, from the purchase date and only through authorized dealers. The same applies to a V2 bought from remaining stock in 2026; Puffco keeps the Plus support page and manual online.

As spare parts the current New Plus components fit, per Puffco: chamber, mouthpiece with Dart and Supercharger. The V2 itself has not been listed in the manufacturer’s shop since the New Plus launch in October 2023.

The V2 is worth it if you find it clearly cheaper than the New Plus – you get the same pen in an older body. Make sure a Supercharger and an intact chamber are included; both are available as spares, but they add to the cost.

The current Puffco Plus is the direct alternative with grip ring and current colors. If you want more, you end up with the Pivot with 3D Chamber, USB-C and temperature control. The Pro 2 is the coil-based counterpart from 2017 for denser clouds.
