Puffco Cupsy

The Cupsy had one generation; Puffco changed neither construction nor materials. Variants differed only in looks: for its Puffcon show in October 2022 a “Puffcon Cupsy” appeared, on April 20, 2023 the “AriZona Cupsy” in collaboration with the beverage brand AriZona, and in November 2024 Puffco bundled the Cupsy with the Plus in Onyx. A replacement bowl with tether was sold separately for a while.

The Cupsy followed the Budsy, Puffco’s water pipe in water-bottle form. Both belong to Puffco’s flower line and share nothing technically with the brand’s e-rigs and pens.

Puffco sums up use in four steps: remove the lid and fill with water, put the lid back on, take the ceramic bowl from its compartment and set it in the opening, pack flower and light it with a regular lighter – a torch is off limits according to the manufacturer. The mouthpiece flips out of the lid and folds away again afterwards.

Leafly recommends coarsely ground flower: kief and bubble hash fall through the hole in the bowl. The bowl sits snugly in the lid and can be hard to remove; there is no room in the cup for extra flower for refills. And yes – according to Leafly everyone tries to drink from the cup at least once.

Puffco markets the Cupsy as easy to clean: the silicone-and-plastic bubbler system lifts out of the lid and comes apart, and the stainless steel cup is rinsed like a drinking cup. The ceramic bowl collects ash and resin and should be scraped out regularly or soaked in isopropyl alcohol.

Because silicone absorbs odors, frequent rinsing of lid and mouthpiece pays off. Empty the water after every session – the cup is not leak-proof according to Leafly, and a full Cupsy in a bag ends badly.

Puffco discontinued the Cupsy between August 2025 and September 2026: the manufacturer’s text now literally reads “All good things must come to an end, and Cupsy has officially become a collector’s item” – “Fare thee well, sweet Cupsy”. In the shop the item is sold out and hidden; in August 2025 it was still available as a “Best Seller”.

Puffco never published a Cupsy-specific warranty. The general Puffco warranty explicitly covers the electronic base and battery – the Cupsy has neither. Complaints therefore go through the retailer.

The Cupsy is meant for flower users who want a discreet water pipe without glass on the go or at the breakfast table. It does not replace a vaporizer: it combusts rather than vaporizes, and there is no temperature choice.

Within Puffco’s range there is no successor; the current flower option is the Flower Bowl for the Proxy. Concentrate users are better served by the Puffco Plus or the brand’s e-rigs. Anyone who wants a Cupsy now has to turn to remaining retail stock or the second-hand market.
