Puffco New Peak

The New Peak offers four temperature presets, indicated by the LED color on the device:

Puffco lists the full range as 490–590 °F (254–310 °C). Temperature control operates in real time — the device holds the selected setting stable throughout the entire 40-second cycle. No manual reheating, no temperature drop at the end of the session.

The heat cycle lasts 40 seconds. When the session ends, the device vibrates. To continue, simply start a new cycle — the chamber is already hot and needs no additional heat-up time.

The New Peak has a built-in battery that provides roughly 35 heat cycles per charge. At four cycles per session, that works out to about eight full sessions — plenty for casual users lasting several days.

Charging is via USB-C, with a full charge taking around two hours. That is longer than the Pivot (45 minutes), but the New Peak carries significantly more capacity to power the larger glass bubbler setup.

Unlike the Pivot, the New Peak has built-in water filtration. The glass attachment acts as a bubbler: water percolates the vapor and cools it. The result is a smoother, more comfortable draw — especially noticeable at higher temperature settings where vapor can otherwise be harsh.

The percolation in the glass bubbler also filters fine particles from the vapor stream. Those with sensitive airways or who simply prefer cooler sessions benefit more than with dry-inhale pens.

The glass attachment is removable for cleaning. Puffco recommends distilled water to minimize mineral deposits. The glass is replaceable — Puffco sells replacements and third-party compatible options exist. The included Joystick Carb Cap controls airflow into the chamber and helps use the vapor more efficiently.

The New Peak weighs roughly 300 g — much less than the original Puffco Peak (680 g with water) but more than a standard dab pen. It sits on the table like a small rig, stable on its wide base.

Operation runs through a single button. One click powers on and starts the heat cycle. Multiple presses cycle through the four temperature settings. There is no app and no Bluetooth — those wanting app control should look at the Peak Pro V2.

The device provides haptic feedback via vibration: once when the target temperature is reached, and again when the 40-second cycle ends. The LED shows the current temperature setting as a color. Straightforward, direct, with no distractions.

Concentrate residue in the 3D Chamber affects flavor and function when it burns in. Regular cleaning extends the chamber's life significantly and keeps flavor fresh.

After every session (1-2 minutes):

• Remove the Joystick Carb Cap
• Swab a Q-tip with a little isopropanol into the still-warm chamber
• Wipe dry once more

Weekly (or when visibly dirty):

• Remove the glass attachment and soak in isopropanol (90%+) for 15-20 minutes
• Rinse with warm water and let it dry completely
• Remove the 3D Chamber with a quarter-turn, dip briefly in isopropanol, let dry

The 3D Chamber is a wear part. Depending on use intensity and how carefully it is maintained, it lasts three to six months. Puffco sells replacement chambers directly, which extends the lifespan of the whole device considerably.

The New Peak is the first choice when water filtration is desired but neither app control nor the Peak Pro V2 price premium is needed. It offers far more cycles than the Pivot and real water cooling, without the added complexity of the more expensive model.

The New Peak suits dab newcomers and experienced users who want a reliable, clean session with water filtration at home or occasionally on the go — without ever picking up a torch.

Good fit for:

• Those moving from a traditional torch rig to something more convenient
• Users who want water filtration but do not need app control
• Casual dabbers who are not vaping on the move every day
• Those new to e-rigs who want a solid option without the Peak Pro V2 cost

Less suitable for:

• Those wanting degree-precise temperature control or app profiles (Peak Pro V2)
• Those seeking the lightest, most pocketable device (Pivot)
• Users who prefer very large dabs (3DXL chamber in Peak Pro V2)

The New Peak does not work with dry herbs — it is designed exclusively for concentrates such as wax, shatter, rosin, and live resin.
