Vapor quality
The Volcano Hybrid wins here by a wide margin. Its larger chamber, higher max temp (230 °C vs 210 °C), and balloon system deliver denser, cooler clouds. The Mighty+ performs excellently for a portable device — but it simply cannot match a desktop of this caliber.
The Volcano offers two inhalation methods: balloon (Easy Valve) and whip. The balloon cools vapor more effectively than any other system out there. The Mighty+ relies on its proven cooling unit, which works impressively well for a portable.
Daily use
This is where the Mighty+ pulls ahead. Power on, set the temperature, inhale — anywhere you go. The Volcano Hybrid sits on a table and stays there. In return, it excels at session sharing: fill a balloon and pass it around. In a group setting the Volcano is unbeatable; for solo on-the-go use, the Mighty+ wins.
The Mighty+ runs especially clean with dosing capsules. The Volcano supports these too, though loading the chamber without capsules is easier given its top-loading design.
Water pipe and accessories
Both devices are water pipe compatible, but in different ways. The Mighty+ uses a WPA (Water Pipe Adapter) that clips onto the cooling unit. The combination of Mighty+ and bong delivers impressively smooth draws — the cooling stacks.
The Volcano Hybrid is designed for whip use out of the box. The tube set routes vapor directly into a water pipe. The Easy Valve set for balloons runs ~€30, the tube set ~€25. For the Mighty+, a single adapter at ~€10 does the job.
In terms of the accessory ecosystem, Storz & Bickel leads overall: Wear & Tear sets, Filling Chamber Reducer, Air Filter sets — all available. The Mighty+ benefits from the same ecosystem but needs fewer parts. Dosing capsules fit both and keep the chamber clean.
Who should buy which?
Mighty+: You want a vaporizer for on-the-go and at home. Portability comes first. You mostly vape alone or with one other person.
Volcano Hybrid: You mainly vape at home. Vapor quality matters more than portability. You enjoy sharing with friends (balloon system). A budget above €400 is no issue.
