About this vaporizer
The Boundless CFX is a portable hybrid vaporizer with a replaceable 18650 battery (5000 mAh) and 20 seconds heat-up time up to 221°C. The device combines convection and conduction and offers one of the largest battery capacities in the removable portable segment. Hookah compatibility, Dosing Capsules and passthrough charging are present.
The large 5000 mAh battery enables many sessions without recharging. With replaceable batteries, unlimited usage time is also possible. The display shows temperature and battery level. The device offers solid features for a price that is lower than comparable devices.
Compared to the Tera V3, the CFX is broader and offers larger battery capacity. If you are looking for a powerful portable hybrid vaporizer with a very long battery life and removable battery, the CFX is the right choice.

The CFX by Boundless is a portable vaporizer with hybrid heating (convection + conduction). Heat-up time is roughly 20 seconds. The removable 5000 mAh battery provides multiple sessions per charge. Features like dosing capsules, water pipe adapter support, app control and passthrough charging round out the package. Our price comparison lists it at 22 shops from €99.37.
Heating & Temperature
The CFX uses hybrid heating (convection + conduction). Temperature goes up to 221 °C, heat-up takes roughly 20 seconds.
Hybrid systems combine both methods: fast heat-up via conduction, even extraction via convection. The result is a consistent vapor experience throughout the session.
Battery & Charging
The CFX has a removable 5000 mAh battery. Passthrough charging works — you can use the device while it charges.
The swappable battery extends on-the-go use: bring a charged spare and keep going without hunting for an outlet.
Design & Portability
The CFX is a portable vaporizer. It weighs 206 g — on the heavier side, but feels solid and well-built.
Accessories & Compatibility
The CFX works with:
- dosing capsules (clean, quick loading)
- water pipe adapter (WPA, for cooler vapor)
- app control (Bluetooth)
Additional original accessories from Boundless are available separately.
Verdict
The CFX is a portable vaporizer by Boundless with hybrid heating (convection + conduction). It suits users who want fast heat-up and solid extraction as well as dosing capsule users. Our price comparison shows it from €99.37 at 22 shops.
Hybrid Heating and Session Performance
The Boundless CFX uses a combination of conduction and convection heating, which means the chamber walls warm your material at the same time as the hot air moving through it. In practice, this produces good vapor density relatively quickly — around 30 seconds to target temperature. The large chamber accommodates 0.5 g or more, making the CFX a good option for group sessions or long home sessions.
The 2500 mAh battery provides extended runtime — expect 90 minutes or more before needing a charge. Micro-USB charging is the one dated aspect of the CFX; the newer CFX Plus corrects this with USB-C. Temperature range covers 21 °C to 230 °C in single-degree steps, displayed on a small LED readout.
CFX vs CFX Plus: Should You Upgrade?
The CFX Plus added USB-C charging and haptic feedback to the CFX formula. If you already own a CFX that works well, the upgrade path is not strongly justified — the vapor quality and heating performance are nearly identical. For new buyers, the CFX Plus is the better purchase at only a small price premium.
Cleaning the CFX takes a few minutes: brush the chamber warm, soak the mouthpiece in isopropyl alcohol, and wipe the vapor path. The CFX competes with the Arizer Solo 2 and DaVinci IQC in its price bracket, offering more chamber volume than either at the cost of a bulkier form factor.
CFX Cleaning Routine
After every third session, remove the mouthpiece and brush the chamber with the included tool. The screen filters in the mouthpiece collect residue quickly — soak them in isopropyl alcohol for 10 minutes once a week. The large chamber size means more surface area to clean, but the flat oven floor makes brushing straightforward. Replace the screens every 2-3 months for optimal airflow and flavor.
