The Mighty by Storz & Bickel is the predecessor to the Mighty+ and still a capable portable vaporizer with hybrid heating. The main difference from the Mighty+: the original Mighty uses Micro-USB instead of USB-C and has a larger 5800 mAh battery, offering more capacity at the cost of additional weight. Heat-up time is around 90 seconds to 210°C.

Like the Mighty+, it supports passthrough charging, comes with dosing capsules, and is compatible with water pipes via adapter accessories. The hybrid heating produces thick, consistent vapor. For non-rushed sessions, the longer battery life is a genuine advantage.

The Mighty from Storz & Bickel was the best-selling portable vaporizer worldwide for years. Introduced in 2014, it set new standards in vapour quality and ease of use with its hybrid heating system and LCD display. Even after the arrival of the Mighty+, the original remains a reliable device with proven technology.

The patented combination of convection and conduction ensures even extraction at temperatures between 40 and 210 °C. Weighing 230 grams, with a PEEK housing and aluminium filling chamber, the Mighty is built to last. Heat-up time is around 90 seconds. It charges via a proprietary 12V power supply in about 100 minutes.

Hybrid Heating: Convection Meets Conduction

The centrepiece of the Mighty is Storz & Bickel's patented heating system. The aluminium chamber heats the material from the outside (conduction), while hot air flows through it at the same time (convection). This allows the herb to be extracted evenly right from the start.

The airflow is around 10 litres per minute. That is enough for deep draws without noticeable draw resistance. A double-click on the power button activates the Booster, which raises the temperature by 15 degrees C, making more efficient use of the remaining material towards the end of a session.

Materials and Build Quality

The housing is made from PEEK (polyetheretherketone), a high-performance plastic used in medical technology. PEEK is food-safe, heat-resistant and significantly more durable than ordinary plastic.

The filling chamber holds 1.4 cubic centimetres and is made of aluminium — a difference from the Mighty+, whose chamber is ceramic-coated. The cooling unit sits on top and uses a labyrinth-like air path to cool the vapour before it reaches the mouthpiece.

The Mighty does not have stand feet (stability fins), but still stands securely on smooth surfaces thanks to its wide base.

Temperature Control and Display

The LCD display shows the actual and target temperatures at the same time. Two buttons (+/-) let you adjust the temperature in 1-degree steps between 40 and 210 degrees C. A vibration alarm — a novelty when it launched in 2014 — lets you know when the target temperature has been reached.

How Do I Charge the Battery Properly?

Two lithium-ion batteries power the Mighty. In practice, this is enough for 5 to 8 sessions, depending on temperature and draw style. Unlike the Mighty+, this version uses a proprietary 12V power supply rather than USB-C.

Charging time is around 100 minutes for a full charge. Pass-through charging works: the Mighty can be used while charging, as long as the power supply is connected.

The battery is not user-replaceable. Storz & Bickel offers replacement as a paid service.

Dosing Capsules, Accessories and Cleaning

The Mighty is compatible with Storz & Bickel Dosing Capsules. The same capsules fit the Mighty+, Crafty+, VENTY and Plenty — a major advantage of the S&B ecosystem. A capsule caddy (8 pieces) is available as an accessory.

Using a 14-mm water pipe adapter, the Mighty can be connected to a bong. Other accessories include the Wear & Tear Set, replacement cooling unit and carry case.

Cleaning

The cooling unit can be removed without tools and soaked in isopropanol. Brush out the chamber after each session using the included brush. Every two to three weeks, Storz & Bickel recommends a thorough clean: disassemble the cooling unit, replace the screens, and wipe out the chamber. It takes less than five minutes.

Mighty vs. Mighty+: What Has Changed?

The Mighty+ is the successor to the original Mighty. Key improvements: USB-C instead of Micro-USB, a ceramic-coated filling chamber, and a 60-second instead of 90-second heat-up time. Vapour quality is almost identical — both use the same hybrid heating system.

The Mighty OG is no longer being produced, but some shops still have remaining stock available (from 204 EUR). The Mighty+ starts at around 266 EUR.
