Vaporizer FAQ — Frequently Asked Questions
Find answers to the most common questions about vaporizers — from choosing the right device to cleaning and accessories.
🛒 Buying & Choosing
For beginners we recommend the Arizer Air SE (~€55) or the XMAX V3 Pro (~€80). Both are easy to use, affordable and deliver good vapor quality. The Arizer has a glass air path for better flavor, the XMAX scores with hybrid heating.
Convection passes hot air through the herb — gentle, aromatic, but slower heat-up. Conduction places herb directly on hot metal — fast and efficient, but risk of burning. Hybrid devices combine both methods.
For beginners €60–120 is enough. Mid-range (€120–250) offers excellent portables like the Arizer Solo 3 or Mighty+. Desktop devices start at ~€150. You rarely need to spend more than €500.
Portables are great for on-the-go — small, battery-powered, discreet. Desktops generally deliver better vapor quality and are designed for home use. If you mainly vape at home, a desktop like the Volcano Hybrid is worth it. On the go, a Mighty+ or Venty is the better choice.
App control (e.g. Mighty+, Venty, PAX) is useful for precise temperature setting and advanced profiles. It's not necessary — all devices work without the app. For advanced users it's a nice extra.
⚙️ Technical & How It Works
For light, aromatic vapor: 170–185 °C. For dense clouds and stronger extraction: 185–210 °C. The optimal temperature depends on your material and personal taste. Start low and work your way up.
This varies widely: budget devices (Air SE) manage 3–5 sessions, good mid-range devices (Solo 3 V2, Venty) 8–12 sessions. The Venty has the largest battery (5,940 mAh) in the portable segment.
Dosing capsules (e.g. from Storz & Bickel) are small containers that you fill in advance. Benefits: cleaner chamber, easier handling, better for microdosing. Not essential, but very handy for regular users.
Many portables and desktops are water pipe compatible — e.g. Mighty+, Venty, Arizer Solo 3, Volcano. You usually need an adapter (from ~€10). The water pipe further cools the vapor.
🧹 Cleaning & Maintenance
A quick clean every 5–10 sessions (scraping the chamber, wiping the mouthpiece). A deep clean every 20–30 sessions. Regular cleaning improves vapor quality and significantly extends the lifespan.
Isopropyl alcohol (90%+), cotton swabs, small brushes (usually included), a cleaning cloth. For glass parts, specialized vaporizer cleaner also works. Never clean the heating block directly with liquid.
🏆 Brands & Models
For most users, the Arizer Solo 3 V2 (~€153) is the best choice — large 5,000 mAh battery, hybrid heating, excellent glass air path. For a smaller device, the Air MAX. Budget: Air SE from ~€55.
The Venty often starts around €299 in price comparison, heats up in 20 seconds (vs. 60s for Mighty+), and offers noticeably more battery capacity at 5,940 mAh. The Mighty+ offers passthrough charging. For travel: Venty. For home and vaping while charging: Mighty+.
The Volcano Hybrid (from ~€699) is the reference device for home desktop. Bag mode for groups, whip mode for individuals, app control. Cheaper alternatives: Arizer Extreme Q (~€120) or Arizer XQ2 (~€150) with similar functionality.
