Gravity tech: vapor without electronics
Like every Stundenglass model, the Tyson 2.0 runs on the patented gravity principle. Water flows from one glass globe to the other during rotation, creating a vacuum. That vacuum pulls air through the heated herb bowl. No motor, no battery, no pump. All power comes from gravity itself. About 5 seconds with a jet lighter is enough, then you rotate.
Tyson edition: black and gold statement
Mike Tyson is not just a boxer but also an outspoken cannabis advocate with his own brand (Tyson Ranch). The 2.0 edition brings a bold black-and-gold colour scheme with the Tyson logo onto the Stundenglass body. Technically nothing changes – same proven gravity mechanism. In the box: aluminium bowl, silicone hose, mouthpiece, and cleaning accessories.
Versatility: hookah mode and groups
The Stundenglass works well for group sessions. Multiple people can draw through the silicone hose in turn. It doubles as a hookah with optional adapters. Water filtration keeps the vapor cool and smooth. At 2,722 g, the unit sits firmly on any table and quickly becomes a conversation starter.
Maintenance and spare parts
Detach the glass globes and clean them with warm water and isopropyl alcohol. Brush the aluminium bowl after each session. Check silicone seals periodically for wear. Spare parts like replacement globes, bowls, and seals are available through the Stundenglass webshop. The aluminium frame lasts for years with normal care.
Who is the Stundenglass for?
This is not a portable device. It targets desktop users who enjoy communal sessions and want a special experience. The manual operation via rotation and lighter takes some practice. If you prefer digital temperature control, a standard desktop vaporizer is a better fit. If you value ritual and spectacle, the Stundenglass is one of a kind.
The Tyson Collaboration
The Tyson 2.0 edition wraps the standard Stundenglass gravity infuser in branding tied to Mike Tyson's cannabis line. The body features a black and gold finish with Tyson 2.0 logos etched into the aluminum frame. Apart from the cosmetics, the internal mechanism is identical to the original Stundenglass — same borosilicate glass globes, same 360-degree rotating design, same bowl attachment.
Limited runs like this tend to hold resale value well. If you already planned to buy a Stundenglass and like the look, the Tyson version costs only a small premium over the base model.
How Gravity Infusion Works
The Stundenglass system relies on water displacement rather than lung power. When you flip the top globe, water flows downward and creates a vacuum that pulls air through the heated bowl. This fills the upper globe with dense vapor without any effort on your part.
Once the globe is full, flip it again and the water pushes the vapor out through the mouthpiece hose. The result is a thick, pressurized draw that hits harder than most desktop setups. Draw resistance is essentially zero since gravity does all the work. Sessions last around 5 to 8 flips depending on how tightly you pack the bowl.
