Microdosing for the Volcano Hybrid. You can find the complete overview on the main page.
Microdosing
Microdosing is a core practical topic for the Volcano Hybrid. Build a stable baseline with fixed temperature and airflow, adjust one variable per session, and keep short notes to find a reproducible setup.
Check draw rhythm, chamber fill, and cleaning intervals in a regular routine. Most quality gains come from consistency, not from extreme settings.
- Start with one repeatable profile.
- Change only one parameter at a time.
- Track taste, vapor density, and session duration.
- Clean cooling path, screens, and seals regularly.

A temperature of 180 degrees Celsius is recommended to start. Lower temperatures (from 130 degrees Celsius) produce lighter, more flavor-forward vapor, while higher temperatures (up to 230 degrees Celsius) create denser vapor. Gradually increasing the temperature is advisable, as higher heat can alter the taste.
The Volcano Hybrid needs up to two minutes to heat up depending on the set temperature. At standard temperatures (around 180 degrees Celsius), it takes about 40 seconds. An acoustic signal (brief pump activation) indicates that the set temperature has been reached.
Yes. The Volcano Hybrid connects via Bluetooth to the Storz & Bickel web app. The app allows you to adjust temperature, auto shut-off, LCD brightness, and other settings. The app is not required – all basic functions are accessible via the touch buttons on the device.
The filling chamber, filling chamber cap, and tube kit can be disassembled without tools. The individual parts can be cleaned in a dishwasher or in isopropyl alcohol (max. 30 min.). The screens should be cleaned with the cleaning brush after each use. The hot air generator itself should only be wiped down with a dry or damp cloth.
Storz & Bickel recommends replacing the valve balloon and mouthpiece every two weeks for hygienic reasons. The balloon is not suitable for storing vapor over longer periods – after a few hours, the vapor condenses on the balloon jacket. Replacement balloon sets are available directly from Storz & Bickel.
The Volcano Hybrid comes with a 2-year limited warranty from the date of purchase. Registering at storz-bickel.com/registration within 4 weeks of purchase extends the warranty to 3 years. The warranty covers defects in materials and workmanship, but not wear parts such as balloons, tubes, and screens.
