How to Make ABV Tea
ABV tea is the ideal end-of-day drink — warm, calming, and easy to make with whatever tea you already have at home. The whole milk acts as the fat carrier that makes the cannabinoids absorb effectively.
What is ABV?
ABV stands for “Already Been Vaped” — it’s the cannabis left over after vaporizing. Because it’s already been heated, the decarboxylation process is complete and the cannabinoids are active. You can use ABV directly in recipes without any additional heating.
Ingredients
- 1 cup whole milk
- ~0.5g finely ground ABV
- Sweetener (honey, sugar, or stevia)
- Your favourite tea bag
- Thermos or teapot with lid
- Coffee filter or fine strainer
- Coffee mug
Instructions
- Grind your ABV as finely as possible.
- Bring 1 cup of whole milk to a boil in the microwave (about 2 minutes).
- Pour the hot milk into a thermos or teapot and add approximately 0.5g of ABV.
- Add your favourite tea bag to the thermos for flavour.
- Close the lid and let steep for 25 minutes, stirring every few minutes.
- Strain the milk through a coffee filter or fine strainer into your mug.
- Add sweetener to taste and enjoy slowly.
Tips
- Whole milk works much better than skimmed or plant-based milks — the fat is crucial for absorption.
- Chamomile or peppermint tea pairs especially well with the earthy ABV flavour.
- Sip slowly over 20–30 minutes. Effects typically kick in 45–90 minutes after finishing the drink.
