About this vaporizer
The Tinymight 2 is a high-performance portable vaporizer from Finnish craftsmanship with pure convection heating. At its core: an on-demand system ready in just 3 seconds — no standby vapor, no waiting. That sets it apart.
Temperature control reaches 240°C. The 2800 mAh battery runs in the standard 18650 format, meaning it swaps out in seconds — heavy users just drop in a fresh cell and keep going. Passthrough charging also works: the device charges while you use it. Convection keeps vapor clean with no contact between heat and material. Connects easily with water pipe adapters for those who want it. Three years warranty from the Finnish manufacturer — a long commitment that signals real confidence in the build.
- Just 3 seconds heat-up time, immediately ready to vape
- Swappable 18650 battery, unlimited backups possible
- Pure convection, clean vapor without material contact
- 3-year warranty, Finnish quality craftsmanship
- No dosing capsules, material must be loaded by hand
- No app control, manual operation only
- Passthrough charging puts more stress on battery over time
The Tinymight 2 is a handmade convection vaporiser from Finland — designed by Finnish tinkerer Tony and built in small batches. With just a 5-second heat-up time, 100% convection heating and a replaceable 18650 battery, it is the fastest session + on-demand hybrid device on the market.
Key points
- 5 s heat-up time – faster than any session vaporiser and competitive with on-demand devices
- 100% convection heating – only heated air touches the material, no conduction = purest flavour
- Replaceable 18650 battery (2800 mAh) – no built-in battery, can be recharged indefinitely
- Hybrid mode – session and on-demand selectable, for long relaxed sessions or quick single draws
- Handmade in Finland, wooden body made from local woods – Price from 379 €
An analogue adjustment dial controls the temperature continuously between 160–220 °C. The sprung mouthpiece adapter and glass stems allow different workflows: compact for travelling or with a long stem for maximum cooling. Small-batch production means longer waiting times when buying, but also personal support direct from the manufacturer.
Operation & Use
The Tinymight 2 is a handmade convection vaporiser from Finland. It offers both on-demand and session mode, a physical temperature control and replaceable 18650 batteries. Heat-up time in on-demand mode: around 5 seconds.
1. Insert and charge the battery
Unscrew the bottom cap and insert an 18650 battery (positive terminal facing up). The Tinymight 2 has no built-in charging port – you charge the battery externally in an 18650 charger. A fully charged 2800 mAh battery lasts for around 8–12 sessions, depending on use. Tip: get a spare battery so you are never without power when out and about.
2. Grind and fill the herb
Remove the mouthpiece. Grind your herb medium to medium-coarse – slightly coarser than with hybrid vaporisers, because pure convection works with hot air. Fill about 0.1 g loosely into the chamber. Do not pack it down; the air must be able to flow completely through the material. Reattach the mouthpiece.
3. Choose the mode and set the temperature
The temperature control (dial) is located on the side of the device. Turn it to the desired setting:
- Low (left) – approx. 170–180 °C, pure flavour
- Middle – approx. 190–200 °C, balanced
- High (right) – approx. 220–240 °C, maximum extraction
On-demand mode: Hold the button and draw at the same time. The heater runs only while you are pressing it. Session mode: Press the button 3 times quickly – the device heats continuously for about 3 minutes.
4. Draw technique
On-demand: Hold the button, then after 3–5 seconds draw slowly. Release the button as soon as you have had enough – the heater stops immediately. Draw slowly and evenly for 8–10 seconds. Drawing too quickly cools the heating element and reduces vapour production.
Session: Simply draw whenever you like. The device keeps the temperature constant.
5. After the session
In on-demand mode, the heater switches off as soon as you release the button. In session mode, the session ends automatically after about 3 minutes. Let the device cool briefly. Remove the mouthpiece, tap out the chamber and brush it clean with a small brush. You can soak the glass mouthpiece in isopropyl alcohol every 1–2 weeks.
The 5 most common beginner mistakes
- Grinding too fine – with pure convection, fine material clogs the airflow. Medium to coarse is ideal.
- Overpacking the chamber – the hot air must flow through the material. Fill loosely, to a maximum of three quarters full.
- Drawing too early in on-demand mode – give the heating element a 3–5 second head start, otherwise you will get hardly any vapour.
- Battery not charged – without an external charger, you can quickly end up with a flat battery. Always carry a spare.
- Confusing session and on-demand mode – press 3 times = session (keeps running). Hold = on-demand (stops when released).
Research context: A study in the Journal of Pharmaceutical Sciences (Hazekamp et al., 2006) showed that vaporisation at controlled temperatures releases over 95 % of the desired active compounds while largely avoiding combustion by-products. Source: PubMed 16637053
Temperature Control & Adjustment Dial
The Tinymight 2 features an analogue temperature adjustment dial on the bottom of the device. It offers 10 main settings with intermediate steps, giving around 20 different temperature levels in the range from 120 to 240°C.
The electronics regulate the heater in real time with high precision. The set temperature is maintained reliably, regardless of draw strength.
Calibration:
If the standard temperature range is not ideal, the Tinymight 2 can be calibrated in steps from -3 to +3 relative to the factory settings. When calibrated to +3, level 7 gives the same result as level 10 normally would. Full instructions can be found in the Tinymight 2 Manual (PDF).
Note: The Tinymight cannot be switched on when the adjustment dial is below level 2 – this is a safety mechanism against accidental activation.
Heating Technology – Pure Convection
The Tinymight 2 uses a stainless steel convection heater with an especially large surface area. Unlike most portable vaporisers, the Tinymight works with pure convection: the air is drawn through the heating element during inhalation and only then passed through the material.
Advantages of pure convection:
- Better flavour: thanks to the large heating surface, the surface temperature does not need to be as high, which results in cleaner flavour
- No residual heating: in on-demand mode, heating stops immediately when the button is released
- Even extraction: the hot air flows evenly through the material
The heating element is a spiral-shaped metal structure. Different versions were used in different production batches – partly in a glass tube, partly in a metal tube, and partly as a free-standing structure with ceramic support rods.
Note: The heater produces a quiet noise during operation. This is normal and results from the current pulses acting on the light, large-surface heating structure.
How Do I Charge the Battery Properly?
The Tinymight 2 uses a replaceable 18650 lithium-ion battery. A Molicel battery is included in the box.
Compatible batteries:
The Tinymight 2 is very powerful and requires high-discharge cells. Only the following Molicel models are recommended:
- Molicel P30B (3.000 mAh)
- Molicel P28A (2.800 mAh)
- Molicel P26A (2.600 mAh)
Warning: Other 18650 batteries may deliver insufficient performance or pose a safety risk. Use only genuine batteries or Molicel cells from trustworthy sources.
Charging:
Charging is done via USB with a cable and an adapter with at least 2A output current. A full charge from 0 to 90% takes about 1.5 hours. During charging, the aluminium bottom panel becomes warm – this is normal, as it acts as a heat sink.
Charging only starts once the battery voltage has dropped sufficiently. If charging does not begin, the battery is still too full for a new charge cycle.
On-Demand & Session Mode
The Tinymight 2 offers two operating modes, selected when switching it on:
On-demand mode:
In on-demand mode, the vaporiser heats only while the button is pressed. When released, the device immediately returns to standby. Heat-up time is only about 3 seconds.
- Perfect for individual draws in between
- No material consumption in standby
- Maximum control over extraction
Session mode:
In session mode, the vaporiser heats up automatically and maintains a stable temperature until it is switched off.
- Ideal for longer sessions
- Constant temperature without holding a button
- Easy to pass around in a group
Microdosing: The Tinymight 2 is excellent for microdosing. The adjustable chamber size works well with both very small and larger amounts.
Cleaning & Care
Regular cleaning is important for vapour quality and the long-term durability of the Tinymight 2. The parts that need cleaning are the glass tube with cooling unit and occasionally the stainless steel screen above the heater.
Glass tube & cooling unit:
- Unscrew the threaded ring on the front plate – the internal parts can then be pulled out easily
- Rinse the glass tube and cooling unit with hot water and washing-up liquid
- Alternatively, soak them in isopropyl alcohol for stubborn residue
- Rinse thoroughly and allow to dry completely
Stainless steel screen:
The screen above the heater protects the heating element. If it is dirty, it can be cleaned carefully with the cleaning brush.
Important: The screen must always sit securely in its holder. If it comes loose and falls onto the heater, a short circuit can occur and damage the heater. Do not use third-party dosing capsules that could dislodge the screen.
Materials & Build Quality
The Tinymight 2 is handmade in Helsinki, Finland. Each device is assembled individually and given a unique serial number.
Materials in the vapour path:
- Stainless steel – heating element and vapour path
- Quartz glass – glass lining and vapour tube
No adhesives, chemicals or insulating materials are used anywhere in the vapour path. The only materials in the device are oak wood, stainless steel, glass and aluminium. The electronics board is separated from the vapour path.
Spotting counterfeits:
Counterfeits exist on the market. Original devices from February 2022 onwards have a serial number on the bottom panel and an individually registered security code. On fake TM2 units, the battery is often inserted the wrong way round – on the original, a "+" appears on the inside of the battery cap.
Troubleshooting & Maintenance
Reduced vapour production:
- Check the battery: a weak or old battery can reduce performance. Use only recommended Molicel cells.
- Clean the battery cap contact: occasionally scrape the contact point on the battery cap clean for optimal power transfer.
- Adjust the calibration: the temperature range can be adjusted in steps from -3 to +3. At +3, level 7 gives the results of level 10.
Broken glass lining:
The inner glass lining can break if dropped. Replacement glass linings are available in the Tinymight shop. Replacement requires a Torx T20 screwdriver. Warning: before removing the top panel, the inner screw must be loosened – otherwise the device will be destroyed.
Cooling unit slips out of the glass tube:
The cooling unit requires two different O-rings: one 10mm ring and one 11mm ring. If both are the same size, it will fit either too loosely or too tightly.
