Vices Adaptaball

What sets the Adaptaball apart from many other ball vapes: you can switch between two heating methods without buying anything extra. Both attachments are included in the kit.

Injector (Convection)

Hot air is pushed through the material without direct ball contact. Result: pure flavor, gentle extraction, ideal for flavor sessions at lower temperatures (180–220°C). Active compounds are released evenly, and the material lasts longer.

Diffuser (Conduction)

The material has direct contact with the hot balls. Result: denser clouds, faster extraction, ideal for intense sessions at higher temperatures (220–300°C). More thorough extraction, but material is used up faster.

Many users switch depending on mood: the Injector for light flavor hits during the day, the Diffuser for thorough extraction in the evening.

Practical Tips from the Community

• Injector mode: No heat soak needed – you can start drawing right away. A quick puff first starts vaporization, then take your full hit.
• Diffuser mode: Allow a 2–3 minute heat soak so the balls can evenly heat the bowl.
• Don't fill the bowl flush: In injector mode, the attachment sits slightly inside the bowl – leave about 3mm of headroom.
• Pack loosely: Don't press material firmly into the bowl – leave it loose so air can flow through freely. Heat comes from airflow, not from packing pressure.

The Adaptaball is powered by the included Classic Single PID Controller. PID stands for Proportional-Integral-Derivative – a control system that maintains precise temperature and compensates for fluctuations.

Controller Specifications

Setting the Temperature

1. Plug the PID controller into a power outlet
2. Set the desired temperature on the display
3. Wait for the current temperature to reach the target (~2 min)
4. Lift the heating element from the dock and place it on the bowl

Recommended temperatures: Flavor sessions with the Injector at 180–220°C, intense sessions with the Diffuser at 240–300°C. Higher temperatures (300–400°C) are for experienced users only – extraction is extremely fast and intense.

Heat Soak: PID vs. Balls

Important: The PID controller reaches target temperature in about 2 minutes – but the balls themselves need 8–10 minutes of heat soak to be fully heated through. Only then does the Adaptaball deliver its full performance. Injector mode allows shorter pre-heating, while Diffuser mode benefits from a full heat soak.

Voltage Versions

The Adaptaball is available in two versions: 220V (Europe, Australia) and 110V (USA, Canada). Make sure to order the correct version for your country.

The three included ball materials are the core of the Adaptaball system. Each material has physical properties that fundamentally change the vapor.

Zirconia Balls (Zirconium Dioxide)

Zirconia has extremely high heat capacity – the balls store a lot of energy and release it slowly. Even with strong draws, temperature stays consistent. Ideal for group sessions where multiple people take turns.

Ruby Corundum (Cut Corundum)

Corundum distributes heat very evenly across its entire surface. No hot spots, no cold areas. The result is smooth, flavorful vapor – perfect for flavor enthusiasts who vape at lower temperatures (180–200°C).

Stainless Steel Stars

The star-shaped stainless steel elements have a large surface area due to their shape and heat up quickly. Heat is transferred directly and powerfully. Ideal when you want fast, intense hits without waiting.

Mixing Balls

You are not limited to one material. Many users experiment with combinations:

• Zirconia + Ruby: Density and flavor combined
• Steel + Zirconia: Fast start, long heat retention
• All three: Balanced profile for all-round sessions

Sapphires as Premium Upgrade

Beyond the three included materials, experienced users recommend sapphires as an optional upgrade. According to community testing, sapphires offer the best heat transfer and purest flavor of all ball materials. They are not included in the kit but can be purchased separately.

Concentrates and Dabs

The Adaptaball is not just for dry herb: the hot coil also fits standard 25mm bangers and slurpers for concentrates. Vices offers various bangers, carb caps, and pearls as accessories. The precise PID temperature control eliminates the need for a separate torch.

The PID controller is powered via a mains cable and heats the coil to the set temperature. Once the heating element is ready, you lift it wirelessly from the docking station and place it on the bowl. No cable between you and your vaporizer during the session.

Aluminum Docking Station

The included anodized aluminum docking station is more than just a stand:

• 10+ holes and holders for the heater, bowls, scoops, and tools
• Hex screws for custom positioning of the holders
• Stable due to the weight of the aluminum block
• Heat-resistant – the hot heating element can be placed directly on it

Everything has its designated spot – no hot parts lying around loose, no searching for tools during a session. Especially during group sessions, the docking station keeps things organized and safe.

Note: The hex key for adjusting the docking station is included in the kit.

Mounting to the PID

The docking station attaches to the PID controller with two rubber bands – one on each side. The bands go from the bottom of the controller up into the docking station. By positioning the station slightly further back, you can wrap the coil cable neatly around it with minimal slack.

The Adaptaball comes with two Titanium Cups for the Adaptabowl – so you can adjust the fill amount to your needs.

Large Cup

The large cup holds a full load for extended solo sessions or group rounds. At low temperatures with the Injector, multiple draws are possible before the material is spent.

Microdose Cup

The smaller cup is designed for targeted, efficient doses – less material, same vapor quality. Especially economical when you are vaping solo and do not need a full bowl.

Titanium Adaptabowl

The bowl itself features both 14mm and 18mm glass joints – compatible with virtually any commercially available bubbler or water pipe. The Everlasting Titanium Screens (Grade 2 titanium) are included and last practically forever under normal use – no regular replacement needed.

Accessory Compatibility

Beyond the included Adaptabowl, the Adaptaball also works with standard 25mm bangers and Ed TNT Matrix bowls. This versatility makes the Adaptaball especially attractive for users who already own glass accessories.

Grade 2 titanium is extremely low-maintenance and corrosion-resistant. All titanium parts of the Adaptaball can be safely soaked in isopropyl alcohol.

After Every Session

1. Remove leftover material from the bowl
2. Brush bowl and screens with the included cleaning brush
3. Place the heating element back on the docking station

Weekly Cleaning

1. Soak screens, cups, and bowl in isopropyl alcohol (15–30 minutes)
2. Place balls in a fine sieve and rinse under running water
3. Rinse all parts thoroughly with water
4. Let everything dry completely before reassembly

Monthly Maintenance

• Check the heater head for residue and clean with a cotton swab if needed
• Verify coil connections at the PID controller are secure
• Wipe the docking station with a damp cloth

Important: Never submerge the PID controller or power cable in liquid. The titanium screens are robust enough to withstand intense use without burning through or warping – replacement is generally not necessary.

Before First Use: Burn-Off

Important: Before the very first use, heat the element to 350–400°C for 10–20 minutes to burn off factory residue. Perform this burn-off separately for each ball material – once with zirconia, once with ruby corundum, and once with stainless steel stars. Only then use it with herbs for the first time.

Clean Adapters Regularly

Clean the 14mm/18mm glass adapter on the bowl regularly to prevent it from getting stuck due to residue build-up. A brief soak in ISO reliably dissolves any buildup.
