510 Thread and Compatibility
The Utillian 50 uses the 510-thread connection -- the most widespread standard for vape cartridges. All common 510 cartridges up to 10.5 mm in diameter fit without an adapter.
The cartridge seat sits at the top of the device and is slightly recessed. This means the cartridge protrudes only a few millimeters. Unlike palm batteries where the cartridge hides inside the housing, the top third remains visible on the Utillian 50.
Thicker cartridges above 11 mm will not fit. Pod systems from other manufacturers are also incompatible -- the 50 works exclusively with screw-on cartridges.
Three Voltage Levels at the Press of a Button
Three quick clicks on the fire button cycle through the voltage levels. The LED changes color with each switch:
| Level | Voltage | LED | Best for |
|---|---|---|---|
| 1 | 2.8 V | Green | Thin oils, flavor |
| 2 | 3.2 V | Blue | Medium viscosity |
| 3 | 3.6 V | Red | Thick oils, big clouds |
The lowest level preserves the cartridge and delivers more flavor. Level 3 is meant for viscous extracts but drains the battery faster. Most users stick with level 2 as the all-round setting.
There is no preheat function. For thicker oils in cold weather, hold the fire button for two seconds to warm up before drawing.
Battery and Charging
The 350 mAh battery lasts roughly 150-200 puffs per charge. With moderate use, that covers one day. Heavy users charge in the evening.
Charging is via Micro-USB on the bottom. Charge time is around 60 minutes. The LED blinks during charging and stays solid when full.
Passthrough charging is not supported -- no vaping while charging. Compared to 510 batteries with USB-C like the CCELL Palm, the Micro-USB port feels dated, but it works reliably.
Battery capacity sits in the lower midrange for 510 pens. Casual users will manage fine; commuters should keep a cable handy.
Build Quality and Controls
The Utillian 50 measures 105 x 14 mm (length x diameter) and weighs 28 g. The brushed aluminum housing feels solid, and the surface shows few fingerprints.
The single button serves as power switch (5 clicks) and voltage selector (3 clicks). Holding it down activates the heater. Operation is simple -- no display, no app, no complicated menus.
Color options vary by shop and include Black, Silver, and Grey. In the box: battery, Micro-USB cable, user manual. A cartridge is not included.
An automatic shutoff after 10 seconds of continuous draw prevents overheating. Short-circuit protection detects faulty cartridges and blinks three times as a warning.
