According to QaromaShop, the Staroma Lite XL is the SS316 version of the Taroma Lite XL and a larger version of the Staroma Lite Plus. It operates with a well-extended 30-mm coil, and the Gemstone Chamber holds 750 3-mm ruby pearls. The kit includes five packs of them.
The coil is extended slightly beyond the length of the Gemstone Chamber and then pushed back with the cap like a spring so that it sits securely. It connects to the PID controller through a five-pin XLR connector. The manufacturer prohibits incompatible coils; anyone unfamiliar with the various pin assignments should purchase the complete kit.
You should start at no more than 266 °C (510 °F) and then slowly adjust upward or downward until you reach the desired temperature. The product page does not specify an upper limit or a heat-up time.
QaromaShop recommends supporting the Staroma Lite XL joint with basket screens or laying the head on its side on the porcelain stand. Otherwise, the strong pressure from the joint can eventually break the inner shell. After extended operation, the stand becomes as warm as a bowl of hot soup; according to the manufacturer, touching it briefly is safe.
The DIY kit includes the SS316 housing, an SS316 Adapter Bowl with an 18-mm joint, the fitted 30-mm coil, the PID controller with a US or EU plug, a coil handle made of Walnut StabWood, a porcelain stand, five packs of 3-mm ruby pearls, 25.4-mm stainless steel screens, a spoon, and a stirring tool.
