The G Pen Hyer is designed to work with a standard 14 mm water pipe attachment, which transforms it from a countertop eRig into a full bubbler experience. Fill the water pipe attachment to just below the downstem — too much water causes splashback, too little reduces cooling. Attach it to the Hyer's glass arm before heating. The unit reaches temperature in about 40 seconds on the highest setting. For concentrate sessions, the quartz atomizer should be pre-heated with a dry run (no concentrate) every few uses to burn off any residue that builds up on the coil housing.
The atomizer is the most important component to keep clean on the Hyer. After each session, while the unit is still warm (not hot), use a cotton swab to wipe out the quartz cup. This prevents reclaim from hardening. Once a week, remove the atomizer completely and soak it in isopropyl alcohol for 20–30 minutes. Rinse with warm water and allow to dry fully before reattaching — residual iso in a heated atomizer produces off-tasting vapor. Replace the atomizer if you notice significantly reduced vapor production or a persistent burnt smell after cleaning.
The Hyer offers four temperature settings — 450 °F (232 °C), 550 °F (288 °C), 650 °F (343 °C), and 750 °F (399 °C). Lower settings (450–550 °F) preserve terpene profiles and produce smoother, more flavorful hits. Mid-range 650 °F works well for thicker concentrates like rosin or budder. The 750 °F setting maximizes extraction efficiency and is best for small amounts of high-quality oil where full vaporization is the goal. Most experienced users settle between 550 °F and 650 °F as their daily range.
