The WOHW V2 complete kit: injector head, PID controller, docking station and accessories.

Update: WOHW V2 – Crossing Tech has released the second generation. Key changes: the injector head now contains 280 ruby balls (3 mm) instead of 520 smaller ones. A stainless steel variant (SS316) is now available alongside titanium. Manufacturer pricing: from $260 (without PID) to $390 (titanium + Vital Tool Set). Available in Europe through shops like Verdampftnochmal.

What’s in the box?

Crossing Tech packs almost everything you need into the WOHW kit:

  • Injector head made of titanium with wooden handle and 520 GemCat ruby balls
  • Titanium bowl with wooden handle, screen and two glass adapters (14.4 mm and 18.8 mm)
  • PID controller with digital temperature display
  • Docking station made of aluminium with screws and hex key
  • 25 mm coaxial heating coil
  • IEC power cable, scoop, brush, spare mesh screens and Viton O-rings

What’s actually missing: a stir tool for mixing your herb between draws. Not a dealbreaker, but you’d expect one in an “all-inclusive” kit. And of course a water piece – that’s on you.

Setup and first steps

Before you can start, the heating coil needs to be installed in the docking station. The coil sits centrally with about 3 mm clearance to the edges and is secured with two small hex screws. Don’t overtighten them – hand-tight is enough.

After that, attach the base to the PID controller using the included rubber rings, tuck the cable into the channel and plug in the five-pin connector. Connect the power cable and you’re done. The whole setup takes maybe ten minutes.

The docking station in detail

The aluminium base isn’t just a holder for the heating coil. It also has space for accessories: three 18 mm holes, four 14 mm holes and two 10 mm holes. You can store bowls, stems and other gear neatly. Together with the PID controller, it forms a compact unit that’s easy to move around the house – almost like a portable desktop vaporizer.

The injector head: heart of the WOHW

Inside the injector head sit 520 GemCat ruby balls. They store heat from the coil and release it when placed onto the bowl. The head is made of titanium with a wooden handle so you don’t burn your fingers.

One feature that’s not common with ball vapes: the injector head can be placed in two orientations.

Mode How it works Effect
Injector Greater distance to the herb, more concentrated airflow More targeted heat, slightly milder vapour
Showerhead Closer to the herb, broader heat distribution Denser vapour, more even extraction

Both modes work well. Which one you prefer is a matter of personal taste.

The titanium bowl

The bowl is also titanium with a wooden handle. A screen sits at the bottom and can be swapped out (two spares are included). The glass adapters (14.4 mm and 18.8 mm) are held by a Viton O-ring and can be changed depending on your water piece.

Beyond the standard titanium bowl, two accessories are worth mentioning:

  • Microdose bowl – handles loads under 0.1 g far better than the full-size bowl.
  • Glass bowl – for those who prefer the flavour of glass. Performs well too.

PID controller: stay out of the menu

The PID controller has a clear digital display and a solid switch. But watch out: the temperature readout ships in Fahrenheit.

Yes, you can switch to Celsius. But these PID controllers aren’t built specifically for vaporizers – they come from industrial applications. The settings menu has parameters you can change but really shouldn’t. Get lost in there and you might brick the unit.

Recommendation: Just leave it in Fahrenheit. 600 °F is roughly 315 °C – a good starting point.

Using it in practice

Here’s what a typical session looks like:

  1. Switch on the PID and place the injector head in the heating coil
  2. Wait for the temperature to be reached (about 5 minutes the first time, faster after that)
  3. Place the bowl on your water piece and fill it with the scoop
  4. Set the injector head onto the bowl (injector or showerhead mode)
  5. Take a big draw
  6. Put the injector head back in the coil to recharge

Want thicker clouds? Place the bowl on top of the injector head during pre-heating. This heats the bowl too and adds a conduction effect.

Here’s the catch

The name says it all: One Hit Wonder. The stored heat in the ruby balls delivers one massive hit. After that, the head goes back into the coil to reload. If you want multiple draws in a row, you’ll need to wait between each one.

That’s not a flaw – it’s the design. A wireless ball vape doesn’t have continuous power like a wired model. The thermal mass of the ruby balls is finite.

Who is the WOHW for?

Good fit for:

  • Newcomers to ball vapes who want a complete kit without sourcing parts separately
  • Users looking for a compact desktop vaporizer that doesn’t take up much space
  • Casual users who are happy with one big hit per heat cycle
  • Budget-conscious buyers – the value for money is strong for a ball vape set

Less suited for:

  • Vape enthusiasts who want to experiment with many different bowls and custom setups – wired ball vapes offer more flexibility
  • Users who prefer long sessions with multiple draws back to back
  • Anyone looking for wide bowl compatibility – the WOHW runs out of steam with bowls that create more distance from the herb

Wireless vs. wired: what’s the difference?

Feature Wireless (e.g. WOHW) Wired (e.g. Breniix)
Heating Coil charges ruby balls Continuous power supply
Hits per heat cycle 1 (then recharge) Unlimited
Bowl compatibility Limited (needs efficient heat transfer) Wide (continuous heat compensates distance)
Mobility Flexible around the house Tied to cable/outlet
Complexity Simple entry More tuning options

Stainless steel version: worth the upgrade?

Crossing Tech also offers the WOHW in stainless steel. The heavier material slightly increases the thermal mass of the injector head. In practice, that should be noticeable – a bit more stored heat per cycle. But it doesn’t change the fundamental concept: it stays a One Hit Wonder, not a Two Hit Wonder.

Verdict: compact entry with a clear trade-off

The Wireless One Hit Wonder does exactly what the name promises: it delivers one enormous hit per heat cycle. Not two, not three – one. And it does that really well.

For the price, you get a well-thought-out package with decent build quality. Titanium bowl, titanium injector, PID controller – no corners cut on materials. The compact footprint makes it practical for everyday use, and assembly takes just a few minutes.

If you want a simple, affordable way into ball vapes and can LIVE with the “one hit per charge” principle, the WOHW is a smart pick. If you’re after maximum flexibility with different bowls and long sessions, look at wired ball vapes instead.
