The Zaroma Lite is made from zirconia ceramic. QaromaShop states that the material offers high hardness, wear and corrosion resistance, exceptionally high fracture toughness for a ceramic, as well as biocompatibility and chemical stability. The Zaroma Lite is said to approach the Qaroma in flavor while being as durable as the Taroma.
This hardness comes at a price during manufacturing: According to the manufacturer, machining zirconia is very expensive, and keeping production costs under control was difficult.
The gemstone chamber is extended, with around 95 % of the stones positioned within the heating coil zone. QaromaShop specifies 230 to 250 3 mm ruby beads as the standard fill, while stating around 275 beads per device elsewhere. You can fit more by sacrificing a few turns of the cap thread, but according to the manufacturer, this is unnecessary for most users.
It is heated by a 20-mm heating coil connected to the PID controller using a five-pin XLR connector. During installation, stretch the coil slightly longer than the chamber and then use the cap to compress it like a spring so that it sits securely. Do not use incompatible coils.
QaromaShop recommends starting at no more than 266 °C (510 °F) and then slowly adjusting the temperature up or down to your preferred setting. The manufacturer does not specify an upper limit or fixed range for the Zaroma Lite.
During extended operation, the porcelain stand becomes as hot as a bowl of hot soup, but according to the manufacturer, it can still be touched briefly.
