QaromaShop Staroma XL is the stainless steel version (SS316) of the Taroma XL and uses a 30 mm heater coil connected to the PID controller. Its gemstone chamber holds slightly more than 500 ruby pearls measuring 3 mm; according to the manufacturer, its surface area and thermal mass are more than three times those of a standard Staroma. Due to its weight, the ground-glass joint should be supported.

The Staroma XL uses a 30-mm heating coil and, according to QaromaShop, has more than three times the surface area and thermal mass of a standard Staroma heater head. This allows it to deliver even more powerful draws with the same or a larger load. It is intended for individual and group sessions.
The Gemstone Chamber holds slightly more than 500 ruby pearls measuring 3 mm. The chamber controls airflow and retains heat better due to the additional mass. It should not be operated empty or overfilled.
Because the SS316 housing is significantly heavier than that of the Taroma XL, QaromaShop recommends supporting the weight with basket screens or laying the head on its side on the porcelain stand. Otherwise, the strong pressure exerted by the joint may eventually break the inner bowl.
After extended operation, the stand becomes as warm as a bowl of hot soup; according to the manufacturer, touching it briefly is safe.
A raised step in the housing stabilizes the coil and improves contact. Therefore, only coils measuring 30 mm, with 5 turns and clockwise winding, are compatible. The coil connects to the included PID controller via a five-pin XLR connector; the manufacturer prohibits modified or incompatible coils.
QaromaShop does not provide a recommended temperature for the Staroma or a heat-up time.
The DIY kit includes the SS316 housing, an SS316 Adapter Bowl with an 18-mm joint, the fitted 30-mm coil, the PID controller with a US or EU plug, a coil handle made of Walnut StabWood, a porcelain stand, four packages of 3-mm ruby pearls, 25.4-mm stainless steel screens, as well as a spoon and stirring tool. A glass Bowl (Dimpled or Non Dimpled) is available as an option, and you can choose between 110 V (US) and 220 V for the power supply.
A glass piece with a compatible 18-mm connection for the Adapter Bowl is not included in the package contents. QaromaShop excludes warranties and returns; only items that arrive defective or damaged will be handled if you contact the company within 24 hours and provide a photo or video.
