The Focus V Carta 2 is a compact e-rig capable of vaporizing both concentrates and dry herbs. Its 360° Intelli-Core heating element uses convection heating and covers a temperature range of 185 to 335 °C, with precise control via the companion smartphone app. The built-in OLED display shows temperature, session length, battery status, and a running dab counter.
What sets the Carta 2 apart from most e-rigs: the battery (an 18350 cell) is user-replaceable. It also supports wireless Qi charging and passthrough operation. Check current prices from multiple European shops in the price comparison. All Focus V products are listed on the Focus V brand page.

Intelli-Core: 360° Convection for Herbs and Concentrates
The core of the Carta 2 is the 360° Intelli-Core heating element. It works on the convection principle: hot air flows evenly through the material rather than heating one side. The result is more uniform extraction — fewer hot spots, better flavor.
The temperature range of 185 to 335 °C covers both use cases. Lower settings (185–220 °C) suit dry herbs, focusing on terpenes and aroma. Upper settings (250–335 °C) are designed for concentrates, where waxes and oils need to fully vaporize.
Heat-up time at the highest setting is around 20 seconds. At lower temperatures it is slightly faster. For a dual-use convection device, that is a solid number — not a record, but not a bottleneck either.
OLED Display and App: Full Session Control
The OLED display on the Carta 2 shows all key parameters at a glance: current temperature, session length, battery charge level, and a built-in dab counter that tracks every completed session. The counter is genuinely useful for tracking usage or comparing different material types and temperature combinations.
The Bluetooth app (Android and iOS) lets you set temperature and session length with precision. Session length is adjustable from 20 to 60 seconds — short dabs for quick hits, longer sessions for larger herb loads. The app also stores custom LED color presets and sends a notification when the target temperature is reached.
If you prefer not to use the app, all basic functions can be set directly on the device. The app is a bonus, not a requirement.
Borosilicate Glass Bubbler with Increased Water Capacity
The Carta 2 comes with a larger borosilicate glass bubbler than its predecessor. More water means a longer cooling and filtration path — vapor loses temperature noticeably before it reaches your mouth. At high concentrate temperatures, this makes a clear difference in harshness.
Borosilicate glass is tempered and significantly more resistant to thermal shock than regular glass. The bubbler detaches from the main body, making cleaning straightforward. The system is compatible with standard 14mm WPA attachments, so the Carta 2 can also be used with an external water pipe.
Prefer a dry draw? You can use the Carta 2 without water in the bubbler — the vapor path stays the same, just without filtration. For herbs at low temperatures, that is a reasonable option.
Replaceable Battery (18350) and Qi Charging — a Real Advantage
The biggest practical advantage of the Carta 2 over most e-rigs: the 18350 lithium battery is user-replaceable. A spare cell costs just a few euros and swaps in seconds. In practice, that means unlimited runtime with enough spare batteries and no dependence on a wall outlet.
Capacity is 2,000 mAh. Expect around 20 to 25 sessions per charge — fewer than e-rigs with built-in 3,000+ mAh batteries, but the swap system more than compensates. A full charge via USB-C takes about 90 minutes. The Carta 2 also supports wireless Qi charging — just set it on a Qi pad.
Passthrough operation is supported as well: the Carta 2 can be used while charging (both USB-C and Qi). At home, it acts like a desktop unit you can still grab and take with you.
Who Is the Focus V Carta 2 For?
The Carta 2 is aimed at users who want flexibility in material. If you alternate between concentrates and dry herbs, this device handles both without compromise. Buying a separate e-rig and herb vaporizer would cost more and add clutter.
The replaceable battery makes the Carta 2 especially attractive for users who want to run their device long-term. Most e-rigs are limited by battery degradation. With the Carta 2, you just swap the cell.
It is less suited for beginners with no experience of e-rigs or convection devices. Filling the bubbler, configuring the app, and cleaning the atomizer require some routine. At 422 grams and 18.4 × 6.7 cm, it is not a pocket device, but it fits comfortably in any backpack. Warranty is 1 year.
