Spherical Convection Design
The L Sphere takes its name from the distinctive spherical shape of its heating element. Hot air flows through the spherical glass piece into the chamber. The shape distributes heat more evenly than cylindrical designs. Pure convection up to 250 degrees C — 20 degrees more than the Tube XL.
Research context: A study in the Journal of Pharmaceutical Sciences (Hazekamp et al., 2006) showed that vaporisation at controlled temperatures releases over 95 % of the desired active compounds, whilst largely avoiding combustion by-products. Source: PubMed 16637053
High Temperature Potential
With 250 degrees C, the L Sphere reaches temperatures that produce particularly dense vapour. PID temperature control keeps the set temperature stable. For flavour-focused sessions, lower settings around 180 to 200 degrees C are recommended. The full range is available at any time, however.
Water Pipe Integration
Like all Herborizer devices, the L Sphere sits directly on the joint of a bong (14/18 mm). The combination of spherical cooling and water filtration produces remarkably smooth vapour. Particularly at high temperatures, water filtration is a noticeable advantage.
French Glass Craftsmanship
All glass components are mouth-blown in France. The sphere is both the centrepiece and the visual highlight. Each piece is handcrafted and unique. Replacement parts are available individually from the manufacturer.
L Sphere vs. Tube XL
The Tube XL uses a straight glass tube and reaches 230 degrees C. The L Sphere offers 250 degrees C thanks to its spherical shape, along with a different vapour quality. Both are desktop devices for bong use with convection heating and French glass.
