The Focus V Aeris is a pocket-sized e-rig for concentrates built around its 360° Intelli-Core ceramic chamber, which heats waxes and oils from the bottom and all sides simultaneously. Five temperature presets ranging from 185 to 316 °C (365–600 °F) cover everything from low-temp terp runs to full-cloud extraction.
At roughly $230, it sits in the premium tier of concentrate pens. The stainless steel and silicone build, Bluetooth app with dab counter, USB-C and wireless charging, and water pipe compatibility set it well apart from basic wax pens. It does not support dry herb. Intelli-Core ceramic chamber: 360° heating explained
The Intelli-Core ceramic chamber is the defining feature of the Aeris. It heats concentrates from the bottom and all lateral sides at once, rather than from a single coil. That 360° approach means even contact with the material, fewer hot spots, and more consistent vapor.
Ceramic is flavour-neutral and does not leach compounds into vapour at normal concentrate temperatures. It cleans easily with a cotton swab and isopropyl alcohol, and holds up better than quartz under repeated thermal cycling. The chamber is sized for small-to-medium dabs — heavy users loading large amounts may prefer an e-rig with a bigger bucket.
The Aeris is strictly a concentrates-only device. Dry herb will damage the chamber and void the warranty.
Five temperature presets: 185 to 316 °C
The Aeris ships with five preset temperature levels from 185 °C to 316 °C (365–600 °F), selectable by button without the app:
- 185–215 °C (presets 1–2): Low-temp territory. Thin, flavour-forward vapour, ideal for terpene-rich concentrates.
- 230–260 °C (presets 3–4): Mid-range. Most waxes and shatters perform well here, balancing flavour with vapour density.
- 316 °C (preset 5): High-temp for full extraction and thick clouds. Best for concentrates that hold up at higher heat.
With the Focus V app connected, you can dial in any specific temperature within that range rather than jumping between presets. Heatup takes roughly 30 seconds, which is on the slower end for a pocket device but acceptable given the 360° chamber design. The trade-off compared to faster devices like the Dr. Dabber Boost EVO is size — the Aeris is considerably more compact.
Focus V app: Bluetooth control, dab counter, draw customisation
The Aeris connects to the Focus V app via Bluetooth on both iOS and Android. The app adds several capabilities beyond what the physical buttons offer:
- Precise temperature control: Degree-by-degree adjustment instead of preset jumps.
- Dab counter: Tracks total sessions and individual dabs — useful for consumption awareness.
- Draw length customisation: Adjust how long the chamber heats per draw, from short sharp hits to longer, steady sessions.
- Firmware updates: New features can be pushed to the device over the air without returning it for service.
The app is optional — the Aeris works fully without it. But it distinguishes the Aeris from basic concentrate pens that lock you into a handful of fixed modes. If you want to track usage or fine-tune temperature beyond the five presets, the Bluetooth connection delivers real value.
Build quality: stainless steel body, silicone shell, dual carb caps
The Aeris has a stainless steel inner body wrapped in a silicone outer shell. The silicone serves two practical purposes: grip in sweaty or wet hands, and impact absorption against drops. It also insulates slightly against the warmth the metal shell picks up during sessions.
The mouthpiece section features dual carb caps that let you control airflow. You can pull directly through them or adjust the carb to restrict airflow for more concentrated hits. The mouthpiece is also compatible with Focus V water pipe adapters sold separately — attaching a small bubbler drops the vapour temperature noticeably.
Charging is via USB-C, and wireless Qi charging is built in. The 800 mAh battery is not user-replaceable. For occasional use that capacity is fine; power users will want to keep a charger accessible.
Who the Focus V Aeris is for
The Aeris targets concentrate users who want a compact, feature-rich pocket e-rig rather than a basic wax pen or a full-size desktop rig. The combination of ceramic 360° heating, Bluetooth app, dab counter, and water pipe compatibility gives it a feature set closer to dedicated e-rigs at a fraction of the footprint.
It is not the right tool for dry herb, large-volume dabs, or users who want the absolute fastest heat-up time. The 30-second heatup is slower than some competitors. The 800 mAh battery suits moderate sessions; heavy daily use will require frequent charging.
At around $230, it competes with the Puffco Peak (larger e-rig) and the Focus V Carta (bigger sibling from the same brand). The Aeris is the more pocketable option — less battery, smaller chamber, but the same core technology and app integration in a genuinely portable form.
