How to use the DaVinci IQ2 correctly: step by step

1. Initial charge and setup

The IQ2 uses a replaceable 3500 mAh 18650 battery. Charge it fully before first use (about 3 hours). Install the DaVinci app (iOS/Android) to unlock Smart Paths and dosage tracking. The IQ2 also works without the app — only the temperature curve function is unavailable. Anyone who does not use a smartphone can set the temperature manually using the touch buttons on the device.

Before the first proper session, a burn-off is recommended: heat the IQ2 without any material to the maximum temperature (221 °C) and let it run for 2 to 3 cycles. This removes manufacturing residue from the vapor path. If the first session still smells slightly of plastic, this is normal and will disappear after 3 to 4 cycles.

2. Filling the oven

The used material should have a uniform dark-brown colour. Black means it was too hot; light brown means there is still something left in it.
