What is the silicone bag for?
It works as a leak-proof soaking vessel: tips, caps and condensers can sit directly in cleaning solution such as isopropyl alcohol inside the bag. The wide base keeps it upright.

No, the brush tips are covered in silicone so stainless steel, titanium and glass stay scratch-free while scrubbing.
