Airflow and function
The standard Twist insert is fixed in place and causes the air flowing through it to swirl. During the conversion, you replace it with one of the CNC screens. This removes the deliberate swirling action and creates diffuser airflow through the screen's holes. The installed screen also retains the ruby balls inside the heater head. As removing the Twist insert frees up space, you can add suitable round 2.5 mm ruby balls to the ball filling.
Material and dimensions
Both screens are CNC-machined and made of stainless steel. Each screen is 1.5 mm thick. These are components for the heater head, not mesh screens for a bowl. Only one CNC screen is required per heater head. The second screen in the set is intended as a spare, giving you one suitable component for the conversion and another for a later replacement.
Compatibility and bowl selection
The screens fit inside the Ruby Twist Pro heater head and can also be used in the original Ruby Twist heater housing. The Micro Matrix Bowl and Microdose Diffuser Bowl are cited as suitable use cases. With larger injector bowls such as the Titanium Matrix Bowl, the Twist insert should remain in the heater head to provide more even heating right up to the edge. The suitability of the conversion therefore depends on the bowl being used and the desired airflow.
Package contents and installation
The package contains two CNC-machined stainless-steel screens, each 1.5 mm thick. Ruby balls, heater housing and tools are not included in the set. Before carrying out the conversion, you must disconnect the PID from the power supply and allow the heater head to cool completely. Do not fill the additional space all the way up to the lid; leave room for the balls to expand when heated. The PID temperature may need to be adjusted after the conversion.

Do the screens only fit the Ruby Twist Pro?
No, the screens can also be installed in the original Ruby Twist heater housing. They fit directly inside the heater head and replace the Twist insert there. Bowl mesh screens do not perform this function and cannot be used in their place.
How does the diffuser conversion differ from the Twist insert?
The diffuser conversion removes the deliberate swirling action of the air flowing through the heater. The fixed Twist insert is replaced with a perforated CNC screen. This retains the ball filling while allowing air to pass through its holes.
Are additional ruby balls included?
No, the set does not contain any ruby balls. It includes only two CNC-machined stainless-steel screens. Round ruby balls measuring 2.5 mm are intended for the additional space; with the Ruby Twist Pro, extra balls may already be included in the existing kit.
What material are the screens made from?
The screens are made of stainless steel and are CNC-machined. Each one is 1.5 mm thick. There are no specifications for coatings or other materials for this set, as it consists exclusively of the two stainless-steel screens.
What is the second screen intended for?
